I would reccommend just putting it in a box and dropping it off at his place. That would be your best bet, legally.

Give him written notice to collect his things, telling him where to collect them and at what date & time he can collect them. Be reasonable, don't tell him he can only come to pick them up at 3:00 am on Thursday morning! Also, let him know in writing that if they are not picked up within 30 days then his personal items will be removed from your residence and dropped off at the Salvation Army (or where ever).

I think I'd send him a registered letter telling him to get his stuff by this date ____ and if he doesn't you could either send the junk over to his place, or a relative of his, or pay for 1 month of a small storage unit and send him the key.
Legally if he's not paying rent, he's not paying "storage." But I'd still give him written notice of 7-10 days.

Legally I have no idea, but if you had a bad breakup they could throw it out the following day.
You should get it out of there as soon as possible. Make it easier for the both of you.

I would think that unless you have something prearranged that 30 days is about all I would keep it. After that it is abandoned property.
But if there is anything of large value I would give him a date to get it out by, and don't keep anything. If he calls the cops and it isn't there you can say " what are you talking about?"

He's probably hoping you will have a change of heart and have him back, just box it up amd tell him to come and get it, if that fails give him a time limit to come get the stuff or u will send it to charity, simple as.

In my state you have to notify in a certified letter. After that he has 30 days. It differs in states.

Well- if it's your place- you can throw them out whenver you want. Let him know that he needs to pick up his stuff by a certain day and if he doesn't you will put it out yourself. You need to warn him though.

send him a notorized certified letter that he has thirty days or so to come and get it, or you will either charge him storage fees, or sell them and keep the profit. Thats what I'd do....but thats just me!
