This question is for anybody who has ever been on Wellbutrin. I was wondering what side effects you suffered from, if any. Why did you begin using it?

I am trying to quit smoking, and was given this script to help me. Did it help any of you quit smoking?

Wellbutrin in known for having minimal side effects. I began the medication for depression and had very minimal side effects. The only thing I experienced was a slightly dry mouth. It was barely noticeable.

Don't be afraid of the stigma attached to taking an anti-depressant. This drug was first used as a smoking deterrent. Did you ever hear about anyone worrying about the side effects of Zyban? Same drug. While using it as an agent to help stop the smoking addiction, it was discovered to work as and antidepressant. It has been relabeled and sold as Wellbutrin.

Good luck in with your efforts to quit smoking!!

i have been on Wellbutrin 300 mg for about 3 years now. If I don't take it I get depressed and cranky. I have no side effects that I am noticing. I have been on others before switching to Wellbutrin and some of the side effects of the other drugs were awful. I hope it works out for you.

I used Wellbutrin (for anxiety, non-smoker) when I was going through a devastating downsizing about four years ago. I can't say enough good things about Wellbutrin. I didn't experience any side effects at all - nothing. It just helped alot with my anxiety level. I took it for a little over a year, until things got a little better for me. Under a doctor's supervision, I didn't experience any problems when I went off the Wellbutrin either. Great drug!!

Everyone reacts differently to it.It actually made me depressed, incredibly bad reaction. There were sexual side effects as well. They go away quickly once you stop taking it.Doctor told me they were rare side affects.Try Nortriptolin if wellbutrin doesn't work.Helps the smoking thing.

I had no side effects-took it to quit smoking, but I will tell you this much, if you smoke a cigarette while on it, you will feel a little sick. Good way to discourage you from smoking!!

I took it to try and quit smoking - it worked (it made cigarettes taste like @SS) but it also made me dizzy and really tired. So the side-effects weren't worth it.

I've never seen it dispensed for that reason. I suppose any sedative will do the trick if it actually works for you.
