I have questioned what is going on many times myself about what the hell is this all about. I think we all do, from time to time.
But, there is a light, not of an understanding, but of an exceptance of the unknown.
If you want to experience it, you must block all things earthly out of your mind and search for him.

He has left us alone, until you find him or need him. He gave you free will. He gave you independance. Heck that is great. More then your a parent would give you at the best of times.

What are you talking about? The trouble you see in the world is not God's doing, it's man's doing. If you don't believe in God, that's one thing. But He doesn't bother anyone. He will definitely leave you alone if that's what you want. I don't know what you're referring to specifically, but God doesn't play sick jokes on anyone. Evidently you're an atheist who doesn't know God, or you wouldn't be saying these things. God only comes to people by their invitation, so I don't think you have anything to worry about on that score. But from your words and your avitar, I'd say you're in desperate need of Him.

It's not an "us" thing Jibba Jabba, it's a personal thing. You ask Him and He will leave you. Simple.

I believe that the God-creature has a vested interest in our success and well-being.
Also, the God-creature is the one protecting us and it's some other creature (not God) who wants us destroyed and thrown into the "lake of fire". It's a misconception that the God-creature will be responsible for that.
