Her ex probably treats her like s*** too. Nice guys always finish last...
Sorry, but everyone else is right - express your feelings to her, and move on. There's no way you're going to be able to be "just friends," if you care about her on a romantic level. You'll just keep getting hurt - meanwhile, missing out on other great girls who might actually appreciate you!

She calls you everyday? Obviously this girl is still trying to keep you in mind. I mean, if the ex boyfriend thing doesn't work out she can always go back to you. If she left you and continues to call you that is exactly what she is doing. It isn't a "let's just be friends" kind of thing. It is a "second chance if this doesn't work out and I made a crappy mistake" kind of thing. And one month is nothing. Move on with your life, there are many more girls to choose from.

You must stop taking her calls! she made her choice and you should not allow her to keep you hanging like that, there is nothing but heartache for you there, she is not coming back, she never really let go of the other guy when she was with you. Count yourself lucky that she didn't hurt you worse, at least it was only a month. Be a cool dude, wish her luck and move to someone that can give ALL her affection to you.

Don't completely give up. From experience I'm still in love with my ex and I'm with another guy. If my ex came back i would dump the one I'm with. But think about what if she realizes hes not the one then she realizes the one that was right was always there in the first place. Just be there for her and let her make the decision.

people go back to the their Ex's for a number of reasons...
either you wait it out or you move on and keep her as a friend...
Ask her..why is she calling you? what does she want from you?

Tell her to stop calling you she already made her decision as to who she wants to be with. You don't deserve for her to be toying with ur emotions like that. Tell her she's either in or out - otherwise you can't be talking to her cuz it's only making it hard for you especially since you still feel for her.
