How many questions are asked here that would be answered quicker if typing two words into Google or Wikipedia?

I've wondered that myself. Only thing I can figure is maybe the person doesn't know that much about how to use the computer, but if that was the case how did they get on here.
They may not trust Wikipedia because from what I understand it can be edited by people.

People want a personal touch; they are looking for personal answers.

Maybe they seek conversation, and answers from real people. Maybe they are lonely, and seeing a reply to their question gives them validation. Maybe they are seeking to connect.
