Identifying unknown drugs?

I found some pills in a loved one's possesion. I want to test them to see what they are. Where can I take a sample for testing?

You need a Physicians Desk Reference Book, you can find one at your local library. It will have a picture of every pill ever made.

Why test them? Get your hands on a Physicians Desktop Reference Manual, and you will have color pics of each pill describing what they are......

Take them to a pharmacist.
