It seems that people who claim to know a lot about the church make stupid statements like that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by looking in to a hat? If any of you have honest questions about the Mormon Church please ask me and I will give you honest answers from the point of view of a memeber of the church.

Although I am very knowledgeable about the Mormon religion, I don't agree with it. I don't speak down upon the church, unless you take my not agreeing with you as an insult. I do not agree with any organized religion. With that said, you just have to ignore the people who are here to try to belittle not only your faith, but faith in general. I've said it before, and I will say it again, if you feed the beast you get a bigger beast. Starve the beast, and it will go away.

Ethan, you're almost correct. It is the anti-Mormon crowd that believe they know all the answers pertaining to our faith. Why? Because they focus on, and believe, every little negative thing that sources provide. The Internet is full of such sources that have no inkling of the truth as we know it.

There will always be those ex-Mormons (excommunicated?) that perceive the truth through slanted glass and are so willing to spread falsehoods to alleviate their own transgressions that brought about their dismembership.

As for Joseph Smith looking into a hat to translate it was because of the seer stone that he was using at the time that required no outside interfering light.

Added Note for Danielle: Any ordinance done for Jewish or Gentile ancestry in the holy temples of God present to the ancestor his or her opportunity to accept or decline said ordinance. Without such ordinances being done for our ancestors, they are extremely limited in their exaltation--having to settle for far less that they may want in the eternities.

Any ordinances done for Jewish ancestry will not force anything on those spirits in the spirit world. They have the option to accept or reject anything done for them by the mortals in the holy temples. They retain full exercise of free agency in the spirit world.

Explain how Mormonism has baptized dead Jews who were killed in the Holocaust, which way surpasses the proverbial "adding insult to injury."

"...Jews were outraged when it became known that members of LDS were posthumously baptizing Holocaust victims and other Jewish dead. Many followers of Judaism find the practice highly offensive, something akin to the forced baptism of Jews practiced for centuries in Europe during the Middle Ages. Some see the practice as an implicit bias, an act of intolerance."

most people is quite ignorant of the true LDS teachings, and they are mislead by so called "expert on mormonism.
But, there is a small number who really know a lot about LDS, yet they set out to degrade LDS, and intentionally make false accusation of what we believe in.
The war between the good and evil is never end, we are in the last days, the adversaries is throwing all they have at us, in turn, we too need to give all we have to go against them.
God be with you.

WOW!!! I dido what quitarpicker said...what a great answer!

It's true though, most anti-mormons or even just chrisitans specifically LEARN why ours is wrong...not so much why theirs is right. My dad is baptist and he actually gets anti pamphlets at his church...that is very sad.
Satan is very persuasive and seems to be getting good at leading people away from the truth and light, which is exaclty what he wants.

Because they get there information from fundamentalist "christians", these apologists know that the majority will believe whatever they say, because that is how they are trained to think.
