How long did it take for yours to be fully healed? Its been 2 months and 2 weeks since i had it done. I can change the navel ring now, but certain barbells make my piercing hurt, and have found that i need a certain size barbell. I dont have the standart 3/8" piercing. I need to use barbells that are 7/16" or longer to wear it comfortably. Will this change once it's fully healed, will it shrink down some so the 3/8 will fit ok? How often can i change the ring before i chance infecting it? Should it be changed when i want or leave it alone for a few weeks with each ring i put in? Changing it seems to irratate it alot and it starts to get really sore and oozey. Please, everyone give me their experinces so i know if i'm handling this correctly!!

I wear lowrise pants so it doesnt rub and irrate it, plus the person who did the piercing is very reliant, has been doing this and tatoos for about 20 years. So i know i choose someone who knew what they were doing, thats not a problem. I've cleaned it twice daily with sea salt and Bactine, what he recommended to use. He said to wait 4 weeks before changing it and i did that. I dont have any expensive rings, all are surgical steel bars, but i did go for the longer ones so they werent poking me anywhere and irratating things further. I stick with the ones that have balls at both ends.

I clean any new ring before i put it in by soaking it in Bactine first, and only change the ring every week or so. There for awhile when i would put the bar thru, the end with the threads on it, to put the ball on, would be covered in a bloody substance. That doesnt happen now, so i assume it is healing fine. What about those of you that have tried the "reverse" style rings? I seem to get along with those alot better than the regular ones. They dont irratate the hole area as much as the reg dangle ones do.

I'd put it the most comfortable ring you have and leave it alone for a couple more months. If it's not completely healed and you keep changing it it is going to take even longer to heal. If it's oozing it's probably infected. Seems like nearly everyone's gets infected at first though, mine included. Just put some peroxide on it twice a day. Mine took about 6 months to heal. I've had it for years now and haven't had any problems with it since the begining.

i know alot of people that have had problems with their navel piercing not healing well, mine was okay but did take a few months to heal properly and I left it alone and just kept cleaning it daily twice a day and it has healed okay now. Some piercers dont pierce it correctly and I need really small bars to fit in properly. i am not sure if it will shrink down or not, but hopefully it will heal for you soon. good luck

I would say that it all depends on your body’s healing type. If other niks and cuts on your body generally heal fast, then I think you should be more than ready to change your belly ring. Although, make sure that you sterilize that belly ring, and maybe splurge a little bit and buy a good belly ring to ensure that you don’t get infected by one of those cheepy belly rings. If you think that your belly has not ready to change, the best thing to do is wait. I know you are probably sick of looking at that boring one you have in now, but in the long run it will save you in the long run.

Mine did that for a few months too. Some bars are longer and thicker than others but once it fully heals you should have no problem. Just make sure you clean it in. I used to clean mine every time I took a shower so I wouldn't forget.

mine also took a very long time to heal and was sore for a while. it will likely shrink down but first let it heal and don't change the ring. i stopped wearing mine about 6 years ago but can still put a ring through though it seems to have shrunk. just be gentle with it and have patience!

Mine took awhile to heal , i even had to go back 3 times to get it pierced because it wouldn't heal correctly. My body rejected the gold I had in it. Just dont play with it or touch it or have anything rubbing against it. Clean it every chance you get with sea salt and antibacterial soap.

My belly button piercing took a year to heal. The top of my pants or jeans rubbed against the piercing so it aggravated it a lot.

It takes forever because it's always rubbing against your pants. Leave it alone until it fully heals and keep using peroxide. Also if you can, get a pure gold one, they don't irritate as much.

I have had mine for a year now and its not quit healed completly. I guess it depends on the body or how well you take care of it the first couple of weeks.
