there are other planets that revolve around the Sun? Does your holy book explain anything about this? I am curious.

There are some verses in Qur'an which talk about sun and moon:

"And the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing. And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere." [36: 38-40]

"He it is Who made the sun a shining brightness and the moon a light, and ordained for it mansions that you might know the computation of years and the reckoning. Allah did not create it but with truth" [10: 05]

"And He has made subservient for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are made subservient by His commandment; most surely there are signs in this for a people who ponder" [16:12]

"The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed" [55:5]

"Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets" [37:6]

Qur'an doesn't go into details about the planets and the solar system for logical reasons. I agree with the answer above. Allah also grants permission to explore the universe, but He also says the limitations:

"O assembly of the jinn and the men! If you are able to pass through the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass through; you cannot pass through but with authority." [55:33]

Science says so I believe in science. As for the holy book I have no idea. I've never heard a Paster redicate something about planets orbiting around the sun.

I am a christian. I don't remember reading anything about how the planets revolve in the Bible. It just says God created the heavens (space) and the earth. It doesn't say.

the Quran mentioned that there are seven Heavens, and Also seven Earths.

[12] It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof (i.e. seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may know that Allâh has power over all things, and that Allâh surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge.
Quran 65:12

about the movement of the planets around the sun, they go unclockwise direction. and that's how Muslims commanded to go around Kaaba (the black house in Mecca). we Muslims had to go around this Kaaba 7 times unclockwise. something about number seven and unclockwise.

and at that time they wouldn't understand logic science of the gravity and all these complicated issue. because God purposely want to make the Quran easy to understand and to read:

[17] And We have indeed made the Qur'ân easy to understand and remember; then is there any one who will remember (or receive admonition)?
Quran 54:1`7

hope that help. thanks

Why I was really confused by the question. Muslims and Christians thinking? That would herald the end of the world.

don't know!
i am christian but i do not read the bible very often. these are the aspects of religion that do not really matter. is that message really important? vital for us as good christians or muslims? i don't think so!

the essence of religion transcends those matters. but i hope someone answers that!

We've seen them by telescope. Do you think when a person professes a religion, he becomes blind to the world?. . . . .. hmm. . .never mind.

I'm not certain there are specifics, but I am certain the Quran mentions other celestial bodies.
