Matthew 12
33 "Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.
34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
35 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.
36 But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.
37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

Have studied the Bible, it's History and Culture for quite some time... and I'm not sure where you get these ideas that it can't be understood without faith. Especially when I have Christians coming to Study Groups to discuss the contraditions THEY find. How do you think the contradictions first came out to begin with? Someone actually read the Bible and saw them. I think it's funny that people say "there's no contradictions in the Bible" but I've yet to see anyone actually Refute the contradictions. They merely say "well, it's Gods Word so it can't be contradictory"... What people should be saying is "IF I find something Contradictory in the Bible, then I should study THAT... if it turns out to be truly a Contradiction, how can that part of it be from a Perfect God?" Instead, you all have faith in the People who told you "This is God's WOrd 100%" when even the Bible itself doesn't state that. It says "All Scripture is inspired"... only the Torah at that time was considered Scripture, Inspired by God himself... everything else was considered commentary... not inspired by God. And if it's 100%, why do we need so many different English Translations. Why do people get upset over the JW's having their own Bible if NOTHING can be changed in the Bible anyway?

Maurice H,
I have been on sites and have met a few non believers that did know the Bible pretty good. But they did not have the Spirit of God in them, and so they started to sound like people playing a trivia game, and had no idea how to rightly divide the word of God. No idea.
It's a daily miracle right before our eyes that we understand the scriptures at all. Thank God!

If you and I were sitting in a room and I was the only one that could see a light and hear a sound and feel something running up and down my chest and smelling something funky, would you think I was crazy or a messager? Oh and what if I then told you the only reason you can't see, feel, hear, or smell what I can is because your not worthy and then I show you a book that I claim to be full of facts and all it says is only during certain times certain people things will know if things will happen?
But on the flip side to that maybe only certain people are sensitive to to certian things during certain times. We can only know for sure if we could all experince it.

Even so called believers often, and incorrectly, think that the Bible contradicts itself. And why shouldn't they, when their very leaders tell them not to believe in the Bible.
In terms of the perceived contradictions, 1 Tim. 3:15 says that "ALL scripture is inspired and beneficial..." You must look at the entire bible and search for your answers. There are no contradictions. You just need to do what King Solomon said in Prov. 2:4-6. I'll let you look that one up yourself.

they didn't take the time to read through the WHOLE thing... they might have read a couple of chapters in there.. but even if someone read the whole Bible there are things that he missed the first time around and he needs to continually read it.... So to those that TRY to contradict the Bible I just gotta say that it's pretty much locked, stocked and loaded.. there's no loopholes. All the questions that comes up trying to disprove it will only confuse you some more and get you a place in the throne of satan..

Actually 99.9% of Christians haven't read the bible either.
Doesn't feel so good when the other side is making up the statistics, does it?
Next time find a source if you want to use a statistic, otherwise you're just as bad as you're claiming we are.
And in my experience many non-believers have read the bible. Why do you think they become non-believers?

I've read the bible. When I read it, I was still a 'believer," and was fully prepared to understand everything I read. But it only made me confused and started me down the path to questioning if Christianity was the right religion for me. It wasn't, so I became an Agnostic. Reading your bible turned me away from Christianity.

If their minds are darkened, it takes a great light to penetrate. Only the Spirit of God can touch their hearts so they can then see truth.
