I had a cup of water that I boiled in the microwave (did not know that water boiled in the m/w is BAD) explode and burn my stomach about 3 weeks ago. The burn has healed but now there is a brownish red scar that I would like to somehow get to fade! Any products that can help?

Hi again Me! Burns are not simple to treat and the M/W will cause water to explode as you now know. This happened to my neighbor's son and was not pretty. Infections nearly always develop in severe burns, application of Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia Oil) will help stop any itching and accelerate healing. One thing I use for scarring is a Triple Antibiotic Ointment which seems to help the scars fade pretty quickly and stops any secondary infections (which is also what Melaleuca Oil does).
You may want to go back and re-check the site you wrote me about as they have a terrific cream for this and for itching.
Feel better soon~!

Aloe Vera - Natural is better. Today many ancient tales of the healing powers of Aloe Vera are factual, rather than fanciful, as
modern medicine unlocks the secrets contained within the leaves. The gel appears to contain a "WOUND HORMONE" that accelerates the rates of healing of injured surfaces. Scientists have found that the Aloe Vera "GEL" is a diverse mixture of ANTIBIOTIC, ASTRINGENT, COAGULATING AGENT, PAIN INHIBITOR, CELL GROWTH STIMULATOR and SCAR INHIBITOR. Even after the wound has healed, aloe will help in fading the scar.

Pepetides and Alpha/Beta Hydroxy acids work wonders on scars too, but you want a product that has an aloe base, because aloe penetrates into the Dermis (or lower skin layers) where new skin cells are made.

For Future reference, if you get a burn, the first thing you should do is crack an egg, scramble it, pour it onto the burn, let it dry and keep it there for as long as possible. Eggs are made of protein which will serve as a second skin and promote healing of the burn. If you do this, you will have less pain and little to no scaring

FYI - Typically "boiling water" in the microwave will not explode UNLESS it is Distilled or purified water.

This has been tested and retested. Only boil water from the kitchen sink in a Microwave.., NOT Bottled Water purchased at the store or distilled in any way.

I wish I could have knew about your burn earlier..., liquid..,Aloe Vera Gel applied to burns mediately works miracles! My used to be wife spilled scalding hot grease on her thigh - and I used Aloe vera Gel (99% Aloe Vera juice) and it relieved the pain as well as left no signs of a burn after a couple of days. No scar.

Still - while I doubt it will make the scar go away now that its healed up.., I would try using the Aloe Vera Gel (or Juice.., in a gallon plastic jug) on the scar. You have nothing to loose and you can drink it as Long as it is JIUCE not medical stuff.

I am not talking about cremes with Aloe Vera or anything like that. Its 99% (or highest percent you can get) Aloe Vera Juice (sometimes called Gel.

See your health food store for what you can drink. ITS GOOD FOR YOU!

Well first off you should have used an aloe vera plant to help heal it during that three week proccess. But thats okay. goto the drug store and buy vitamine E oil. apply it each night before you go to bed. Be sure to wear a big shirt you dont care much about it kind of stains. but thats is the best way to rid scars. aslo drink a lot of water it keeps your skin healthy.that will help more than you think.

time, keep it out of the sun, and put neosporin on it to help it heal and stay moist. Don't fret, it will lighten with time. I had a spot removed above my eye, skin kept growing and looked like a tumor. While the scar was healing it was really dark and red and thin, but I kept it out of the sun, kept a little dab of neosporin on it, and it is coming along nicely. With a dab of concealer you can't even see it now, but it is still healing. And I had it done about 4 months ago.

Believe it or not Preparation H! It will reduce the redness and also aid in the healing process helps to minimize scarring too. I know this from experience. I had my brow split open and used it. Now you can barely see a scar.

Get your chin into cold water and seek medical advice urgently. Don't put any type of cream on it!!!!! Only doctors will be able to tell you about the possibility of scarring. BTW Lower your cooker or stand on a stool in future ;>)] Hope you are OK and on the way by now!
