Get 12 tea bags (lipton is great) out and fill a pot up with just enough water to cover them. Bring that water to a roiling boil, drop in your tea bags, turn off the heat and let it steep for 5 minutes.
Throw out the tea bags and you're left with a tea concentrate. Pour this into a gallon sized pitcher. If you want sweet tea, now is the time to add your sugar. A full cup is enough for me, but some people like it sweeter. Once your sugar is dissolved into the warm concentrate, toss in a whole tray of ice cubes and then top off your pitcher with cold water.
Your tea should be plenty cold enough to drink at this point, and if it isn't, just pour it over a little more ice in your glass and you're good to go.

ICE TEA PUNCH

1 cup of Lipton iced tea mix (lemon flavored)
2 liter of ginger ale (any brand)
orange and lemon, thinly sliced (optional)
lots of ice

In a punch bowl, mix the ice tea mix with the ginger ale very well. Add a lot of ice and place the oranges and lemons on top. People will like enjoy in their serving glasses. It's a huge hit everywhere and just too easy not to make.
For best results, use Lipton brand iced tea with lemon.

Don't skimp on that part but you can use any brand of ginger ale. Also, make sure you have enough to make 2 batches...it goes fast!

MINT ICE TEA

7 tea bags
1 sm. can frozen lemonade
1 sm. can frozen limeade
1 c. sugar
Fresh mint

Bring 1 quart water to a boil. Add 7 individual tea bags (the minute the water comes to a boil remove from heat and put in tea bags). Set aside to steep for 7-8 minutes, remove tea bags. Fill a one gallon container half full of cold water. To cold water add cans of lemon and limeade. Mix thoroughly, add sugar to taste (about 1 cup). Stir until dissolved. Taste. Add mint.

I use 8-10 tea bags put in cold water and bring to hot but do not boil, turn off and let sit for 5 min, then mix in a cup of sugar, then when sugar is dissolved, add cold water until the tea is the strength you like. If you are trying to serve ASAP then mix some cold water to cool it down then some ice in place of some of the water, let melt then pour over ice. Sweet tea MUST have lemon. (in my opinion)
