The first date is like a job interview.
So look good be at your best say the right things. Don't lie but you can embellish.
Do the research - ask people who know her what she likes without her finding out - know your environment take her to places you know and like, where there you can chat. Listen and talk do not go over the top or be to much of a wallflower above all impress.

Make sure you have a glass of wine/other alcoholic beverage before you meet.

Dinner or Drinks are always good for a first date, so you can properly chat.

if you are nervous ask lots of questions, everyone loves to talk about themselves.

Don't get too drunk.

Don't talk abuot anything depressing or that you are insecure about. Try and be as positive/hilarious as possible.

Best not to sleep with them that night (that's just my opinion) Leave them wanting more.

Wait for them to call you :)

Well, for the guy, pick her up at her front door, open her door, (open all doors!), take her to a nice restaurant, stay for 1.5 hours, then go do something fun where you can get to know one another like say bowling or the park- no movies. You can
t talk in the movies. Drop her off back at home, tell her it was nice, hope we can do this again sometime soon. A hug will do, make sure she gets in OK, and you're off. For women: go along, talk about life, dreams, plans, etc. Don't be too flirty, and enjoy yourself.

Not a film! You can't talk to each other and get to know one another. The worst idea for a first date ever.

I reckon a drink is the best thing to do. More relaxed and casual than a meal and easier to get out early if you don't like each other!

That would depend on your age. If you are underaged, go to the movies or a paintball range (no I am not joking... last time I did it was with my boyfriend and we had a blast and we are "old"). If you are an adult, find out what your date and you have in common and go do that. Save sex for say the third or fourth date, after you have had time to spend with this person getting to know them.

Dinner and something else, like bowling, mini golf, etc. Sometimes a 1 hour meal isn't enough of a chance to get to know someone.

A movie is fine, but you don't get a chance to get to know someone while sitting there watching a movie. Unless you go see the movie first, it gives you something to talk about over dinner.

first dates should be all about getting to know each other..a lot of men waste time thinking they want to get laid...you should give yourself a chance and get to know as much as possible about the other person ..you'll be surprised ...the things you'll find out and based on that ..you;ll know if you want to go out with this person again...I say talk a lot. go to dinner somewhere nice...where you can over look the beach or the city....no movies please. or even take walk on the marina or beach after dinner, go have some ice cream or go have a few drinks that will make you talk.

Alot depends on how old you are. But a catch all is to listen to that person and show some interest in them and get to know them and be open about yourself when they ask. Be true and honest so that you don't have any surprises incase another date with that person is in the future plans

Boys: be polite, open the door for her, dont eat like a pig (we all know you can), and be a gentleman, but be fun
Girls: be curteous, even if you're miserable have fun, when he walks you to the door, if you wanna kiss, stall for time, if you dont say you had a great time and go inside
Basically on a date just try and act natural

Go for a nice meal. Try to relax and get to know each other. Be yourself! Organise a second date.
