I think a card is fine, or some small gift. Depends on your relationship with your boss, and how much you want to kiss up! ;-)

Well being a boss the selfish side of me says of course buy a gift, lol. But the reality is that Hallmark just had a slow month and created bosses day. Speaking for myself I am blessed almost every day with the staff that works for me, and I demonstrate that with wages, and special perks and an extra day off here and there. They return that to me in amazing productivity and loyalty so it seems to me the balance is pretty even. If you feel like a gift is neccesary then the relationship with your boss is off just a bit and the better thing you could do is find out why you feel the need to get him a gift. Have you done something wrong, is your review coming up, do you want something? Then ask yourself if those are reasons to get a gidt and wouldn't he see thru that anyways....come on!

I think that's okay unless they're a really great boss. You could get them a really small gift. You can always find nice little things for under $5. If you're on a really tight budget and $5 makes a difference, as it would for some people, a card is just fine.

Even a card can be thoughtful ask the staff if they want to go in on a gift .That is usually what a work place does .Most of the time people will or wont chip in .If they dont wont to ,I would just get a card.

Depends on what kind (how he treats you) of boss he is ? I would think a card would be sufficient. Are you his secretary? If so does he buy you gifts for Secretary day? If he does, then buy him a gift !

A card is good enough unless you are super friendly with your boss, then some token gift would be nice.

OMG, I never heard of Boss's Day. That's downright obscene. Secretary's Day is great - time to have everyone appreciate what the secretary does to keep the office going. But "Boss's" Day? Puh-leeeze.

Okay, well, I guess I'm out of the loop. Thank goodness for a union job!!!!

I don't even consider a card meaningful...and I am a boss. Skip the card and the fake holiday and get to work. That makes me the happiest anyway! :)

nope, i've never heard of boss's day. II would only get a card. Seems like another made up marketing holiday to me, so companies can get more money.
