A friend told me I am gonna look stupid, I have a dark tan, to me I don't see it. But in 3 weeks I am going on vacation and I usually go in Feb. also. So I'm trying to maintain the color so when I go on vacation I don't burn.

I wouldn't say it's stupid, but I would say it's a waste of time..... I used to go, because I was self conscious about my arm hair (freakin stupid right?) so I'd go, and do the sticker thing, but I HATE the way your skin smells after, like it fried a layer off, it wears off quickly, and it's not natural looking, it just makes you look really weird if you over do it (My friend did that, she swears she looks so good, it's horrendous how bad she looks) So I would say no, don't do it, and if you do, do it once every two weeks, just to keep up your regular tan.....

No...it's not stupid. If you want to be tan, then go ahead!!! When you already have a base tan, also, you do not have to go to the tanning salon as much to keep it up. You are right, also, it is good to have some sort of color already started when you go somewhere warm/tropical on vacation so that you do not burn. It is definately no fun to burn right away and then ruin the rest of your time there. It also is something that makes you feel better during the winter months when it is so dreary, cold and just plain blah....a grat pick me up!!! Enjoy it...and your vacation!!!

Did you know that going tanning during the winter will expose you to UV rays and help in Winter Depression?? Plus, if you are going on a cruise and gonna show off what you've got why torture people by not going tanning. Of course there are problems by going too much. Just have common sense!!!

I don't think that is stupid. I think your frien is a doorknob for putting you down though. I think tanning in the winter to keep a tan is perfectly normal, and I do the same. Also it is actually suggested that you tan before going on vacation. that could ruin your time there, with a terrible burn. Have fun! Ps. Kindly remind your friend tan is the new pale lol...xo

I'd probably avoid the tanning bed and use a self-tanner. I personally haven't tried for a "sun" tan in about 15 years, but with a self-tanner, I get a little glow. Have fun.

Sure is stupid. Tanning causes skin cancer. People used to think a skin tan was ugly because it meant you had to work outside with the "common" people.

We used to have to go outside at reunions because the fake tans were so ridiculous looking and we didn't want to hurt their feelings. Stifling the laugh till you get out of earshot is tough though.
Does anyone really not know they look like Bozo the clown.
But go ahead, do it, we really need the laugh.

No,absolutely not.
I advise you to go once a week.
A good upkeep of that nice color you took the for getting it.
Stupid:why do people go on a sun holiday in winter?
Is that stupid too?
Of course not.
And why worry what people might say about it:your decision

Nope not stupid I used to tan yearly, and I know plenty of people who do. Once you get that base tan you only need to go once a week to maintain it.
