This excruciating pain I've had in my breasts for the last week and a half is driving me insane. Do I need to go get a mammogram? Could it be the caffiene I drink? I'm only 22, but is that too young to be worried about cancer?

There are many types and causes of breast pain, and yes, the caffeine may aggravate it if you have fibrocystic condition (non-cancerous lumps). According the the Mayo clinic:
"Breast pain (mastalgia) is a common type of discomfort among women — affecting 70 percent of women at some point in their lives.

Breast pain occurs more frequently in younger, premenopausal women, although women who are postmenopausal can experience breast pain, too. About one in 10 women experiences moderate to severe breast pain more than five days a month. In some cases, women have severe breast pain that lasts throughout their entire menstrual cycles. This can have a major impact on daily activities, such as work, family relations and sexual relationships.

Breast pain alone rarely signifies breast cancer. Still, if you have unexplained breast pain that's causing you to worry about breast cancer or otherwise disrupting your life, get checked by your doctor."

There is more on this site, which I stronly urge you to check out.
One of the major things they pointed out is that breast pain is categorized as "cyclic" or "non-cyclic". For younger women, especially, "cyclic" pain is usually related to hormone changes during the menstrual cycle. The pain is often worse just before the period.

"Non-cyclic" pain can be the result of many different things, so you should try to determine whether it's cyclic or non-cyclic. If it's the latter (occurring all the time, or not related to your menstrual cycle), then see a doctor. There are too many causes of non-cyclic pain to list (ranging from large breasts to use of anti-depressants). One thing on the site worth mentioning was this:
"If you have noncyclic breast pain that's localized to one particular spot within the breast, you should also see your doctor for an evaluation. About 2 percent to 7 percent of women with this type of breast pain have breast cancer."

As for the mammogram, age 22 is not at all too young to have at least a "baseline" mammogram. This is useful for comparison to ones you should get regularly when you're older, or if other symptoms arise.

Some women have used Evening primrose oil, Vitamin E and cold compresses to reduce the symptoms of PMS, including breast pain and tenderness. There also some Rx meds for this pain, but have serious side effects. If your stomach tolerates it, ibuprofen or aspirin can be very effective in relieving the pain.

Try tapering off caffeine, esp. if your gynecologist says you have fibrocystic condition. Most women who have this say that cutting out caffeine drastically reduces the pain and # of cysts.

I'm not a Dr but i was told that caffeine can swell up cysts in your
Brest's. Tenderness is often a sign of pregnancy.Going on the pill will often cause this at first . Going to the Dr for a check up is always a good idea. feel better

I too have this problem BUT,, I am 65, don't drink coffee nor have periods. But I am on hormone replacement therapy.

No it is NOT too young. Not likely but you never know. Get a mammogram, but you will need a prescription from your Family Practitioner or your Ob Gyn.

Its never too early to say one is having cancer. Nowadays, easily, people are prone to having cancer as young as teenagers. Cancer can be due to the Metallic toxin exist in our body where we can easily get it from consuming Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG), where if you use to eat outside food, you will tend to eat MSG. Same goes to aspartame, where it is taken as an alternative for sugar.

This toxin cannot be easily removed. You need to detoxify your body and at the same time increase your body immune system.

Anyway, I've known of a product that can solve this problem. You got to try this product name Liquid Zeolite (NCD- Natural Cellular Defense) which can be purchased at www.mywaiora.com/698685. Further info is at www.zeoliteinfo.com and www.lovencd.com for testimonials of people recovering from their sufferings.

Give it a try and experience the product.
