best of luck!
My dad was adopted at birth and when he was 42 he found his real mum. on their first meeting her sister (his aunty) met him at the door he was stumbling with official paperwork and was told to put it away as there was no mistaking that he was her son. when he met her he said it was like looking in a magic mirror that ages you 20 years.
my sisters and i met her the following week and were stunned how alike they were, same nose, laugh both wore glasses. and the same sence of humour! amazing experience
she sadly passed away earlier this year but by meeting her we added a son, daughter-in-law, four granchildren and 6 great grandchildren to her life. and we had nearly 18 years with her.
best of luck, hope all goes well

I am not adopted myself. Have a friend who gave up her daughter for adoption when she was much younger, mother was only 16 at time. Well if her daughter didn't find a friend on line, they are best friends now as have met etc. And dam strangest thing is that it turned out to be the little girl that my friend gave up 35 years ago. She had grown up in a small town about 25 minutes from where we live. Natural mother has met this girl and the parents who raised her. She is getting married and her new found mom and sister are going to be there also. Actually her new found sister is going to be her brides maid. Just proves how small a world we actually live in. Good luck with meeting your natural mom and I hope you have a happy ending also.

I was adopted at 5 days old. I am 36 now. About 11 years ago, I met my real mom. It was nice to learn everything that happened and why she had to give me up but was not prepared to hear the worst of it. Alot of times we make a mental picture that 'this is what happened' then to find out the truth, its not all its cracked up to be. My best advice is met her.... ask her all the questions you need to get your answers. BUT, prepare yourself for the worst.
Most irnoic thing was we both have the exact same name.... my parents who adopted me didn't know her name.

I was adopted,aged1, at 12 i went into a Children's home voluntarily, sick of my adoptive mum laying into me, came out at 17.5, had no support from my adoptive family at all, i had to fend for myself, did look into finding my natural mum, but lost my bottle didn't and don't know what i will find, so i decided let it go. some where i have brothers and sisters, if they want so badly to know me, they can trace me, as i could trace them, but i do wish you all the luck in the world, i hope you get on you have both a lot to catch up on, pls e-mail me to let me know. take care.xx.
