The post office do commission free exchange. Also speak to your bank as they are likely to give a good deal if they do currency exchange. Personally, I would take enough cash to cover me for one night and then use the cash machines once I'm there.

If you go to the bank you are a member of you will have reduced commission.
The worst place to go is hotels and airport banks.
