The reason why Buddism in ancient China diminished in popularity is because people were complaining that it drained their country financially. The Buddist retaliated by saying they helped the Country more than they hurt it but eventually the Emporer seen them for what they were a financial drain and tax evading freeloaders gaining more power by the year. China tore down countless monastaries, reclaimed the land and forced thousands of monks back into lay life. Do you think the U.S. will have a similar out come in the Illegal immagration situation? Or will illegal immigration be the down fall of America Because the goverment is to scared to do anything?

Uhhh.
First of all your question makes no sense. How exactly can you compare monks being forced back into lay life to illegal immigrants already living the lay life. I don't see many Mexican nationals donning robes and building monastery's.

And secondly do you really think our only two options are become like China or be destroyed? Do you really want our country to be like China? Communism doesn't work, it's been proven again and again. 20 million people died during the "great leap forward', and today millions live in poverty with virtually no way out. To become like China, would be our downfall.

Your question belongs in the religion category, not the immigration category....

Well, if the government is We, The People, then 'the government' isn't afraid to do anything...most of what's going on now, in my view, in regard to reacting to the illegal immigration issue is citizen-based, because the corporations and their special interest lobbyists are all about trying to encourage 'growth'. And, the quickest, easiest way to achieve that growth is to let 1/2 of Mexico move in...as far as the religion angle, there's plenty of protestants, lutherans, and outright heathens who've got a lot of healthy skepticism towards good old organized religion, and there's more and more calls every year for these outfits to face top-to-bottom public audits. Didya know the baptists have a church-based retirement? LOL Deeper, and wider, and smellier...
the churchies are all about getting their hand into government, they've been at it for decades, and by 'churchies' I mean ANYBODY that's into the 'religion-as-second government' bit...

Personally, I think having tax-exempt churches just gives unscrupulous people a big dark place to hide their ill-gotten gains from elsewhere...and perpetrate their little social engineering ideas etc...

Um.. are you suggesting we tear down the Catholic Church?

I disagree with regards to legitimate churches. I agree that there is abuse, but I'd rather have our imperfect system than one that decides the government can say religions are freeloading and force priests into other lines of work. I think you are speaking of some Communist pograms long ago in China, frankly, and most people don't think they were good.

Now, I do think that there should be more enforcement against churches and religions lobbying as political parties. Those churches should lose their tax exempt status. However, it is complex how that standard needs to be applied, as well.

I think separation of church and state is a big difference between us and even other western countries that 'respect' other cultures. I think it is distinctly American, and I think it is a good thing.

I seriously doubt that illegal immigration is going to be the downfall of America. illegals didn't just bumrush the border thy have been here since I can remember and I have been around awhile. The government is not anywhere close to afraid of illegal imigration. You need to consider who politicains answer to...they aren't answering to the American people anymore they are answering to Lobbyist who have money to spend on their campaigns and keep them in office. It is financilly beneficial to them to keep illegals here working for low wages...And what corporations want corporations get ask the big oil companies that recorded record profits never before seen and still got handed hefty corporate welfare money. Let's face it they own what used to be a government of the people for the people and by the people.

ok, china vs monks...dont you find that horrible? since that is their religion of choice and they are peaceful? Illegal immigrants are not freeloaders and they are not the downfall of the US, deporting that many taxpayers at one time would be. Want to kill an economy? Kick out millions of workers, customers and taxpayers.

China never really was a beacon for human rights. I'd rather not emulate them in any way, shape, or form.
