Wait 24-48 hours after a perm, this is only for the sake of the clients hair staying curly. By Monday you should be able to shampoo as usual.

When getting a perm,I always advised my patrons to rinse well with water only & scrub your scalp (perms will dry it out a bit) when taking a shower (will help the smell), and if you must shampoo, do it lightly with a gentle baby shampoo.

You can wash it the next day as long as you use a perm and color treated shampoo and conditioner. The smell won't leave for another couple of days. The smell hasn't changes yet, but there are so manny different techniques. Hope this helps.

Are they back? I thought they were an 80's thing - when I had them in the 80's I usually washed it the next day - never had any problems as I prefer the wavy rather than tight curl look. You should be fine to wash it Monday morning.
