Sara, honey, a doctor really is your best bet. If your regular doctor isn't able to help you then get a new doctor. This is a problem that relates to the chemistry in your brain and you can learn to keep yourself in balance by seing a therapist, but in the mean time you may be able to be helped with medication. you sound like someone with a lot to offer the world, so take care of yourself and remember that your friends and family love you and please find the help you need, okay? I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but your situation is beyond yahoo answers, okay? I hope you find some peace and joy soon.

I've had the same problem and my doctor understand perfectly. Maybe you need to see a different doctor. Have you seen a psychiatrist? Your family doctor may not understand your illness but a psychiatrist should. Keep in mind that some are better than others. If you don't like one, find another one. Therapy will also be helpful. If there is no logical reason for your depression, you need medication. Please see a psychiatrist. I have found medication to be very helpful.

Go to a different doctor! You have depression. If you've been trying to manage this by yourself for a few years and it's still going on, you've got an out of balance brain and would benefit more from the right meds than anything else. Find a competent psychiatrist and maybe a good counselor or therapist.

You need to get to some help quickly. Right now you still understand that suicide is not the answer but if you let this go it will fester up like and infection and get worse. Look in your phone book or yellowbook.com for a suicide hotline in your town, or your local mental health center will help. Sometimes its easier to talk to strangers than it is to family. Or call the local ER and ask for a referral . Plz dont put it off you really sound like you are hurting-there is help out there, you dont have to feel like this. Good luck.

i have also been through a time of depression. I had even gone so far as drugs, alcohol, and men ti numb the pain. And suicide was also at the top of my list. but i found that poetry really helped me out. anything that i was feeling i wold write it on paper. Some of my best works came from when i was depressed. i would say try writing or talk to someone who does understand whats going on with you. having a network can really help. you can always talk to me at sexycat_1984@yahoo.com I did know where my depression was coming from if you dont know where yours is coming from you may be bipolar or have some other type of psychological situation.

It's important that you understand that you have a disease. Our brains produce two chemicals, one makes us happy and the other one makes us sad.
If you can't stop feeling sad it's because you are producing more of the "bad juice". The only way to stop this is through therapy or drugs.
I know this because I went through the same thing, it's possible something really bad happened to you and you blocked it out, or you need something and you haven't figured it out yet.
My suggestion is to try a different doc that you feel comfortable with, and PRAY. Pray a lot, everyday all day, it's really gonna help.

I'm sad to hear that you're having so much trouble. I went through a few years of dealing with depression as well; I remember the days of crying for no reason at all. Since you don't want to hear "GO SEE A DOC" :) I'll suggest this. Do a search for "meditations" Go thru some sites and try some of them. :) Sometimes our brains just need a distraction so that it acn clear itself.

If your family doctor doesnt understand, you need to get a different one. Don't give up....keep seeking out people to tell...you will find someone who understands. i do. I couldn't even explain why i cried at a time in my life. Honestly a low dose of welbutrin helped me. Don't stay to yourself, even if its getting out and mingling amongst the public. Reach out to anyone and everyone. This will pass, please do not do anyhitng that will make a final change and end your life and hopes and dreams. You will look back someday at this sad time and see how youve grown and made it past this. I read inspirational quotes and poems they really help me brighten my own mindset when i can not talk to others. They are online if you do a search or at bookstores you can relax sit and read...jot down helpful ones. Take care of yourself...please!!!
We only are as sick as our secrets keep us.

just think about what is makeing you sooooo sad....and then think is it relly worth my life??? No nothing is.a friend or a doc will not help you because this is all in your head this is you doing this to yourself....just try too see all the good in the world like the sky when we have a beautiful sunset...thats what makes my life worth living...nothing should be able to bring you down like this...you have to have confidance in yourself and if you dont try doing something that your good at for awhile so that you can show confidance in that and thats just the first step..do you have your life in order im sure you do so you need to be happy for that also...theres plenty on this world you be greatful for you just need to see it just try to open up your eyes

Go to you're Doctor asap and tell him you suspect that you have Chronic Depression. You're symptoms are spot on. Mood swings, feeling depressed and even suicidal for no apparent reason. Do not waste you're time on here, go make an appointment now!
It is not you're fault, don't worry. Go see you're doctor and discuss the results with you re family.
