Study your boss and notice the signals he or she sends. Pick up on body language and spoken language. Figure out your boss's agenda. Then you'll be able to read your boss better, understand what he or she is telling you and determine your best course of action. And don't be afraid to ask your co-workers for help.

Only a fool would try to change the boss. If you try, you'll be seen as a threat or impediment. It's better to become part of the team by enhancing your boss's career with successful projects and hard work. Few employees ever advance their careers by proving the boss wrong.

Always position yourself as an advocate, not an adversary. If your boss says he or she needs something done, don't say, "That's impossible." Say, "I'm on it." If you were in your boss's position, wouldn't you want someone telling you that they're on board and ready to help? And working hard doesn't mean you're sucking up or brown-nosing. (Well, it doesn't always mean that.)

No boss will get upset with you for making his employees more motivated or happy. Get involved with staff events. Not happy with what's available? Start your own event. Organizing something like a bowling team may increase your value to the organization.

Regret to advise you that the bosses job is to monitor subordinates so dodging will be nearly impossible & since you are on the lower rung of the business heirarchy, you are the one considered expendable. Decide if you really want THIS job, and maybe apply somewhere else.

Yeah...I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come in tomorrow and Sunday...

lol

Ok now that I've got that out of my system (love that movie), your best bet is to keep yourself busy, so hopefully they will have fewer reasons to bother you. Of course, if you're in a position to find a new job, then that would be good too. A good boss makes all the difference, honestly.

Best Regards,
Holly

Why do no longer you sing an exceptionally annoying track each and every time he's contained in the comparable room as you? Or devour some cabbage and Brussels sprouts which provides you with some truly pungent flatulence and enable one off each and every time he walks into the room. tremendously optimistic a number of those issues are annoying yet no longer offensive sufficient to get you fired!

The one thing you must remember is he is the boss. If you can't take him as he is, your best bet is to look for another job, but do this befor you quit and make sure you understand what you are doing because it may make a diffrence to the next job you are looking for.

Sounds like you have a bad work environment - sorry to hear that. I've been in them too. The only way out I found was to find a different job. :-(

I always tried to make it an upward move though, so that can be incentive to push yourself a little harder to move forward. I guess that's the only bright side.

Do your job to the best of your ability, if he sees that you are productive he will most likely leave you alone unless some pressing issue demands that he talk/consult with you. If this is not the answer and/or you are not happy within this particular job then seek employment elsewhere. Best of luck to you.

a huge 'DO NOT DISTURB - GREAT MIND AT WORK' neon sign on your desk should do the trick. if not, you have two options -
1 - lock him up in his office - that should give u a few hours of uninterrupted bliss
2- or, just give him a puzzle game - the kind preschoolers play with - it should suit his IQ.
