I dated several people off the internet, and chatted with tons as well and can understand why people take time before meeting in person....lots of the people I was chatting with were total idiots! However, I did meet the man of my dreams, right here on Yahoo! So no need for me to worry about the dating scene anymore...thank god ! :)
Take it slow, and don't push, some people are very new to the internet dating scene and are very leary of meeting in person, for some it takes a while to get a feel for that person to see if they are geniune...there are a lot of creeps on the internet...not to say that you are one of them but in today's society people need to be careful and very aware of situations. If you suggest meeting someone pick a very public place, like a coffee shop, or a mall, this might make them feel more comfortable and be more inclined to agree :)

"all but i will take a chance and meet anyone" anyone?
I used to be totally anti meeting people on the internet, but realized if i'm honest there have to be some others out there too. Actually that is how my boyfriend and I met, he's the first person i've met off of the internet and it worked out swimmingly. I think that you should talk to the other person A LOT before hand, and if they're reluctant about giving little details about themselves away than not to because they're hiding something.
Before he and i met we knew a lot of little random things about each other most 'internet friends' wouldn't know. IE aprox addresses (he lives at an intersection)
Be careful. very very very careful

I have met plenty of people off the internet.
But first it went offline and to the telephone. After talking to them for a while then we met.
A woman that meets you after just talking to you online is not the kind of woman you are going to want anyway. How would you trust she isn't meeting other guys?

Whenever I met someone from the internet I made sure it was in a VERY public place where I knew a bunch of people. No one came to my house or even knew where I lived until I knew them in person a few months to make sure they were "normal"
