A friend of the family gave me a frozen turkey last year at Thanksgiving and I put in in the freezer and never cooked it. It's been almost a year. Is it still safe to eat? Will it be really chewey? Or will it be just fine?

It will taste fine... my family never had a lot of money growing up so if some got a free Acme turcky and didn't want it- my mom would save it. I think 2 years is most people's limits but I have eaten 3 year old frozen turkey and it was fine.
People forget or don't know- they are old when they get them from store.... those turkey's are already a year old when you buy them... so one more year don't do a thing.
Same with eggs- eggs last for years if you buy them fresh, supermarket eggs are about 1-2 year old when you buy them.

I'm not real sure, but with venison I toss the old after a year because Ive given it away before and It looked fine, but the person did not digest it well. Sometimes I think if it has been in the freezer for a while you take a chance.

I think the rule of thumb is: Chicken & Turkey is good for 4-6 months in the freezer & Beef 6month.
After that it gets tossed.

As long as it's been completely frozen and never thawed it'll be fine

It depends on your freezer and how the turkey was packaged.

It will not be spoiled as the freezer will keep it from rotting indefinitely. However, when you thaw it check it out for "freezer burn". Freezer burn will look like patches of "jerky" on the surface of the meat. It is not harmful if you eat it, it just doesn't taste very good.

Most likely it will be just fine if it has been kept frozen solid. I had one for over two years and it was just fine.

If it was sealed well and didnt get freezer burn, it should be fine.
