My 3 year old Pom has been potty trained for 2 years now very well with barely any mistakes. For the last week now he has gone pee on my bed every night while I am sleeping. Twice now he has gone in there right after I let him out to pee on my bed. Does anybody know what the reason may be or how I can break him of this? He is crate trained as well. He stays in there while I'm at work and I really don't want to make him go in there at night too, but it looks like I may have to.

Okay, this could be him getting back at you or he does not want to be away from you any more. Try leaving the radio on when he is in there. You can also have a someone walk him while you are at work. When you leave does he make a mess if he is not in his crate? You can leave him out and pretend to go out, make sure he is in a room that does not have things that can't be replaced and come back in like 10 min. Then try it with the music on in the room he is in. Pick a station that they talk a lot on. To help you can even leave the radio on low when you are home and just turn it up when you leave to help him calm down. It is going to take a while. Now, the bed problem you could try to litter box train him. What you do is get this dog pee pad, (has to be the dog pee pad because it has a scent on it that makes the dog go pee.) put it where he goes pee and eventually move the pad into a litter box without an litter. Then put a hand full of dog litter on top of the pad, after he starts using the box take the pad out and leave the litter. If that does not sound like an answer that you can work with put a vinyl sheet on your bed and that will get rid of the pee smell, that might keep the dog from smelling the old pee and it might keep him from peeing on it. And lastly don't let him be by himself all day it is not a good thing for him. You can board him during the day at any vets office and you will know he is getting good care and he is not alone. Good Luck.

my cat peed in my bed every single night in middle of night, the female who loved to nuzzle my mans balls when we'd lay in bed together.. well i was pregnant and woke u often to pee...noticed it would happen in the middle of the night....so one night i caught her and i took her by the scruff and into the shower. i peed right on that cat until i finished. that damn cat NEVER peed on anything EVER again. I STRONGLY suggest tryin it ;0) haha some of u may think i am crazy...well i just had my 4 yr old pom rescue female who adores my current husband pee in our bed! every time he leaves the house she whines like a baby...i really think this is a territorial thing and if so try it i did...she needed a bath anyways haha

If there are no medical reasons, it might be dominance issues. Your bed is a place that he likes, so he is marking it as his territory. Our toy poodle did the same thing to my sister's bed - he would always pee on her bedskirt. He died suddenly before we could correct him of this, but I'm pretty sure that's what it was. You should ask your vet if they have any numbers for trainers or animal behaviorists in your area.

When a dog suddenly changes behavior you need to think that there could be a physical reason. Is your dog neutered? Do you notice any other behavior changes? I would consult your vet as it could have something to do with the prostate or bladder. If you have a vet that will take calls as opposed to visits for questions, I would give him/her a call asap.

Pomeranians are tempermental and spiteful at times. If there's something ticking the dog off, then perhaps he sees this as his way of getting back at you.

Well, maybe he needs to be trained again so that he can remember. Aside from that, maybe its his nature, he loves doing it on your bed. Try to scold him also if he always do that after he has trained.

He wants to make sure that no man will ever want to sleep in that bed with you again! He's just jealous.

there could be many reasons. one could be phycological and another could be medically. he may have a urinarey tract infection. you may want to take him to the vet just in case to make sure nothing is wrong with him.
