I'm not sure you're dog is depressed because of the lot of land/ no land issue. I moved twice and the dogs went through a rough time both times. (they seemed depressed - and LOTS of diarrhea!!!! lol) I think just the change in their surroundings plays a big part in what they're going through. Nothing is familiar to them. Once he adjusts to his new home, I think he'll be ok. If not, maybe check with your vet. If it's an extreme problem I think he can give him something to get through this change. This is just my opinion...good luck!

they most definately can. for example, say you have a dog. Your dog is your best friend, he goes everywhere you go, even lays at your feet when you go to the restroom. Then, one day, you meet that special person. You and your dog are spending less and less time together. Eventually, your dog is lucky to get a pat on the head when you do come home. So he just sits and waits and waits for his best friend. Dogs feel emotions just as humans do. They can get sad, scared, restless, jealous, happy, just like we do. Your dog knows when you are upset, cause he trys to comfort you by licking your cheek. (example) so yeah- dogs can get depressed! They can even be prescribed anti-depressants.

Yes, my friend's German Shepherd gets really depressed and mopey if he is not constantly the center of attention when people are around. Just play with him more and talk to him really sweetly. That should make him happier.

Yes, dogs can be depressed, they are sensitive and aware creatures. Your dog might be stressed over a house change, in which case he will adjust over time. To make him happy, play with him, games he likes, for instance just fetching a ball or a stick, or a nice walk, or he might just want to snuggle up to you. Dogs are definitely sensitive, they have helped me thru rough times, they are very loyal so your dog will appreciate your caring.

Yes, just play with him more often. Take him for a jog, walk, or take him to the park and play. Toss a ball or something and play with him. He probably misses the big space to run in. And now he doesnt.

Take him for walks, find pet friendly parks that have gated areas for dogs to run free. get him a new toy, buy him a bed, or hug his butt all the time. they are like kids, treat them as such. also, take him to the vet to make sure nothing is making him feel bad

Animals don't think on a deeper level that if their basic needs are being met!! So I don't think depression is possible, Get him out for more exercise he may be lethargic or unsure of his new surroundings
