It's the first Bible that I've read cover to cover. I'd recommend it. It's good for people that are new to the Bible. I've moved on to a NIV study Bible to better understand a few things.

It's good easy reading, especially for children or teens.
Just keep in mind that it's not an "official" translation. When you look at the NLT, NIV, etc, you can see in the front of the book all the scholars that translated it, etc.
The Message was written by the guy as a paraphrase so he could read it to his children.
I have a copy of the Message New Testament. When I'm writing up a Bible study, or need to understand a verse, I read a few different versions to get a better understanding.

i really like it
there are things that are expanded upon and things that are wriiten so beautifully but with the same context and same meaning as kjv.
there are a couple questionable translations but that may be because i have not read the whole thing or am not religiosly mature enough yet to understand anyway i recommend it

i would not make it my primary bible but it is excellent for reference and enjoyable reading

I think it can be good to help us see Jesus' life and words alive and real for today and I do like to read it. I would not use it as a reference for trying to study or understand Jesus' teaching. Remember it is a paraphrase and open to interpretation.

I like it a lot. BUT I don't take it as the final authority of the Word of God. It's a translation of a translation of a translation. I use the KJV to cross-reference it.

i like how it simplifies things. I wouldnt take it quite as seriously as the king james though. I think of it as a tool for simplification of complicated verses
