Ha, neither of those are rhetorical questions, those are just stupid questions. The first one is just a question that most people should know the answer to, and the second one is just a weird way of science.

A rhetorical question is a question that you don't really expect to get a real answer from. Like "How many times have I told you to sit down and be quiet?" You dont expect them to tell you "three".

or "dont you know any better?" "have you no shame?"

The rhetorical question is usually defined as any question asked for a purpose other than to obtain the information the question asks. For example, "Why are you so stupid?" is likely to be a statement regarding one's opinion of the person addressed rather than a genuine request to know. Similarly, when someone responds to a tragic event by saying, "Why me, God?!" it is more likely to be an accusation or an expression of feeling than a realistic request for information.

Usually it is a "what if..." kind of question. Like: "What if the government started confiscation all the guns?" or "What if we built a really high fence along our border with Mexico?" Questions like that.
