Don't they care about their children?

Although I feel it is an absolutely insane thing to teach, to the radical Muslims, it's not hate. They are teaching their spiritual beliefs to their children. There are parts of the Koran that pretty much say that if someone will not convert to Islam, then they must be enslaved or killed. Many Muslims look past those passages, similar to Christians looking past the passages where God tells the Israelites to go kill everyone in a particular town so that the Israelites can move in. Of course, in these present times, Christians have Christ's presence in their lives so that the need for strict Old Testament obedience to the law, sacrifices and conquering peoples and such has been replaced with a loving relationship with the creator. Peaceful Muslims, on the other hand, just pretty much don't talk about the bad parts. You might also notice that they don't speak out against the radicals much either unless it is in the form of accusing others of being intolerant or racist by lumping all Muslims into one category.

Going back and looking at the answers to your question, I see my point is being proved. Even though you clearly referred to RADICAL Muslims in your question, either the answerers say (paraphrased), "You can't call Muslims hateful! You are a stupid bigot!" or they turn around and attack the Christians ("Oh yeah, well you're hateful too!). Not one person has said "Yes, it is sad that some misguided people have taken our beautiful religion and caused it to appear violent and hateful". I wonder why that is. Why so defensive?

I would also like to comment on Dan's comments (below) about the 655,000 deaths. Although the study itself is quite suspect in its accuracy, let's assume it is true. That's a lot of people killed. Do you also realize that, in the same study, they estimate that over 70% of the deaths are by the terroists themselves. I don't seem to hear a lot of mention of that. Of the remainder, that toll includes Iraqui millitary combatants and actual terroists that were killed either by coalition troops or by their own suicide bombings. Yes, there have been civilian casualties and that is always sad. They are people with lives and families and such. Unfortunately, there are always innocent casualties in any war. A figure that is left out of that study is the "Life Toll" that has come about from the war. How many lives have been saved because Sadaam is no longer able to kill people for speaking out against him? How many women have not been raped by the corrupt members of his regime? How many people are receiving medication, food, education, shelter, electricity and such that would not have received it had the overthrow of Sadaam not taken place? How many lives were saved? Of course all this is just extraneous argument, because your basic question had nothing to do with the war in Iraq. There has been hatred of the U.S. and terroist attacks by radical Muslims (including the one on 9/11) long before the invasion of Iraq.

And I also wonder about the thumbs down I received. Was that because what I said is incorrect? Or, more likely, is it simply because you don't like hearing what I said and, once again, prove yourselves the actual intollerant one?

They don't teach their children to hate. But these same children grow up hearing the news, they hear things about Palestinian baby's being killed by Jewish soldiers, they hear about Israel invading Lebanon, they hear how the rest of the world has stood by and done nothing to protect their Muslim brothers. they learn history in school, how their countries were invaded, India, Egypt, Saudi Arabia were all invaded by other countries at one time. (i am not talking about ancient history, i am talking the last 200 years) in the name of colonization. How these countries looted their country;s treasures. That is why there are obelisks in France and the USA among others. They see how even now we say we are protecting the people in Iraq but the situation is worse than ever, the only thing we are there to protect is our own oil interests. And many of them still don't hate us, they just realize that we are misguided. But if they do hate, who taught them to hate? Their parents or our own country's that say one thing and do another?

imagine a man who sees many people from his Political Govts ignoring his BASIC NEEDS. i mean a man who doesnt know if his children will have his next meal. and with Taliban everything was helter-skelter. and then some foreigner PROMISES to TAKE CARE of them provided if they support them. so this man is all for the Foreign policy hoping better future. now the Real Deal begins after the foreign soliders step into their lands. Instead of attacking the GUILTY MAN in FAR --OFF caves, they see soliders attacking their families and children and them. they see how their parents are killed and gunned. how his daughters and wives were raped. now how do u expect a man who is tortured in every way to react?.

so they end up as TRAPS to extremists . also it is because Muslims are walking away from Qu'ran and Allah and His Messengers-pbut and paying more attention to CORRUPTED Mullahs and Imaams and estremists -- who are using the innocent people as bait for their intentions.

Do you know that it is more easier to teach hate rather than love? For most of the extreme Islamics this is the only thing that they know so forgive them for being old and unwise to the ways of the world.

When we teach our children they learn there minds are like a sponge they soak up everything that you say and eventually they enforce whatever you say to them. That is just like what you see with all of the Islamic extremist, Haven't you noticed that the majority of them are very young and most of them are in there teens?

Until the cycle of hate is broken, which it has to be broken from teaching wrong things then they will never know how to love when to love or even know what it feels like to love at all.

The same reason some Christians teach their children that everyone else is going to hell.
The same reason homophobics teach their children all gays are awful people.
The same reason that racists teach their children that all other races are inferior to their own.

Hate is Hate and it is all over the world not only in the Middle East.

Because they have lost hope.

And the people in charge of them need a "bad guy" to keep their minds off of their own despair.

To get peace, the average man has to have hope. Hope of a better life for thier kids. We need to work to give them hope.

If I knew how to do that, I would become the President!

Peace!

Same reason millions of Radical Christans in the west teach their children to hate. They want their children to fear god and have moral values, which of course means hating everybody different.
