I, generally, hate cake. Have ever since I was a little kid.
That said, there is only one kind of cake that I like, red velvet. Very good.
My thoughts are, if someone that hates cake likes red velvet it has to be able to go over well.

Where you can would really depend on where you are located. If you live in a town that has a Publix, a Costco, or a Sam's Club (or Wal-Mart), then you have GREAAAT options. The cheapest would be Costco. And it is absolutely delicious!!! At work, we order one for every event. We get a pretty big one with filing and great icing for 14.99. Off of this one cake, about 25 of us are stuffed with cake! Publix also has AWESOME cake, but they are more expensive. The cake is priced around $20 and up--and that's for a smaller cake, I believe a 1/4 sheet cake. If you love Publix, then the money is worth it. Wal-Mart and Sam's Club has cake that is DELICIOUS. And you'll pay for it, though it is not as much as Publix, but not as cheap as Costco. Your best bet for taste and money would be costco if possible.

I called the bakery from where we ordered our wedding cake and I ordered 3 tester cakes in the flavors that we had at our wedding for our anniversary.
I ordered cherry nut, vanilla, and chocolate.
Let me tell you, they tasted WAY better than the top tier we saved from our wedding for our anniversary.

do what i did make one.
Its personal and he or she will love you for the effort. Spend the money that you were going to spend on the cake and have a romantic dinner, that way you dont have to do the dishes!
