Since I know the items aren't returned to the owner, are they discarded, donated to charity or placed in a room where workers can do a bit of "shopping"?

We are all aware that we cant have certain items in our hand luggage so that its confiscated is our own fault..I have seen Airport Staff given some hard times by passengers and not really able to reply in kind so if they get first pick of it before its sold off I feel that's fine..might make up a little for the crap they take off rude people.

Most are auctioned annually by the Customs department. They release ads in paper anouncing the auctions.

Actually a lot of it ends up on ebay....they were selling nailclippers in 10 pound lots a while ago...

they are starting to hold actiouns and actioning it off and using the money for the use of the airport wht ever they need it for.

why we work at a airoprt checking points and you should see my bathromm closets and medicine cabinett-- never half too shop againn at a druggiec store and i get payed too haul away your goods have a nice day now!!
