Start by making a list of colors you like, then narrow it down by what fits the season of the wedding. As for theme, make a list opf things you and your fiance enjoy doing together and make that into a theme for the big day, if you like to travel, a travel theme is great, you enjoy wine, another great theme, a holiday, a food, nature, anything can be turned into a theme for a wedding.

How did you and your finace meet? Was it at a beach - then go with a beach theme and color scheme. Think of something meaningful to the both of you and then decide what aspects (colors, settings, themes) remind you of each other.

A great example, my friend and her now husband met when they went on a double date to a baseball game (they both LOVE baseball) so when it came for a color and theme, she went with the colors of their favorite team. The bridesmaids wore red and the theme was a summer outing - like a perfect baseball day.

Hope this helps and good luck!

I had deep red and white. It was an easy color to find and match and the tones are naturally rich and classy. Flowers were easy too since so many different flowers are deep red and white. Candles, wine glasses, ribbon and roses make pretty centerpieces. We had Italian dishes and wines (cheaper than you think!)

Also, if I hadn't picked the colors I used, I was going to used ivory and chocolate brown. Has an almost antique look to it and you might consider the sepia toned photography too if you like that antique look. I probably would have served gourmet chocolates and specialty coffees (again, cheaper than you think!)

depends on your favorite colors, but if say it's green start with the lady that comes in first and have that as a light green then as the ladies progress make the colors darker. Have the men's colors the opposite, the first man's the darker color then progresses lighter. Have the flowers be the opposite also...on the ladies the darker so they match the men's colors and the men's flowers match the ladies dresses.

I was a bridesmaid for my best friend last year and her theme was coffee and cream. She had three bridesmaids, each in a different shade (chocolate brown, capuccino and latte - silly names but you get the idea!). Her dress was ivory. She had clear glass vases filled with coffee beans as table centrepieces, topped with dark brown candles and surrounded with cream roses (smelled divine), and 8 cream tealights on each table.
Really though, it depends what you like!
There are a couple of pictures of the outfits on flickr (katy_bird).

congrats!
I recently been to a wedding reception. The main theme colour is white, and they chose to use fresh flowers of purple, dark red and a small number of white flowers. This colour scheme has been applied to decorations as well... very classy I'd say :)

i think a light blue and a light yellow would be attractive or a darker blue and a light pink a theme would be just to see you smile

Depends on how conservative you are...hot pink and lime green for something differnet. Or a rich green w/ gold. Or rose w/ silver.....
