I think it is. You can have an opinion on illegal immigration. None of us here are in favor of it. But some of you seem downright hateful, violent and members of the KKK. (I said some) This hate is directed at certain groups, especially Mexicans. I know many Mexicans legal and illegal, and they are fine people who work very hard, love their families, and the girls are very cute. Some of you seem so obsessed by them, as if a Mexican stole your husband or wife. It's scary, cause you're killing your insides with hatred, and the law of the universe states it will only come back to you.....and believe me most Mexicans I know are too busy to even give you a second thought. (I'm not Latino by the way, but know people of all cultures, and love both the Asian and Hispanic cultures)

I agree we need immigration reform in the U.S.......asap!!!! But calling a mexican a "beaner" or "*******" won't do it. Voting and holding our politicians responsible will!!

I agree with you. This forum clearly shows a great deal of racism and hatred from many people that have no contact with Hispanics at all. Many characterize themselves psychologically as adolescents or poorly educated persons without any understanding of the issues at hand. I, too, dislike the imposition of the illegals into America, and feel that they must be returned to their own country to deal with their own government and its policies. It is unfair for so many to be here and have no civic responsibilities....may cops in Florida won't stop cars driven by Hispanics as the police don't speak the language and it is too much hassle for them. However racial slurs and such can not be condoned but it is apparently the need of white people to persist in doing so. I am white and a minority of one is a city of 2,500,000 Chinese and I have never encountered any problem. Perhaps it is also a problem of education. The hostility towards blacks is slowly decreasing...very slowly...but then the number of blacks with better education is increasing...and the Mexicans work the fields...it is easy to disregard menial workers....as happened to the slaves in America. If you find comments that are totally unacceptable, then report that user...we need to stop this spread of hatred.

We all know that it's so much easier to hate than it is to love. Especially in this day and age. Yes, I think this forum promotes hate because there are more haters out there nowadays than there is anything else. The internet is full of it and so is the television. It's a sad thing. It's even harder not to become caught up in it.
Mexicans and who ever else we're talking about are people too, I understand that. However, the ILLEGAL entering and staying here in our country HAS GOT TO STOP. You must understand the impact that this is having on our own economy. We as a country are getting in serious debt over this. Meanwhile, people are working and only trying to support there families. I am referring to people that are here legally.
Our health care system is so bloated with the illnesses and the diseases that are coming into the country with these people, we are lucky if our own get taken care of. I'm not saying or replying like this out of hate, so please do not be offended. I am only speaking what I think is true. I work in the health care business and have been a nurse for 25 years. Viruses and diseases that we stomped out of this country years ago ARE BACK. We as Americans need to stop this before it gets worse.
These people are hard working, I know, but they also take our jobs away from our own people. They enter our country and do not follow the rules by getting themselves legal. Some of them are convicted criminals and murderers, child molesters and such and they are not screened for any of these things by our government. I do not mind that they are here, but they need to be here in my country paying taxes like I do and following the rules, getting screened for health issues and fingerprinted like I do when I go to a job interview.

You'd think the leaders in govt could figure a way to solve this problem by now like take a lesson from almost any other country in the world. No one can enter most countries w/o proper papers, maybe we should e-mail the White House with a how to essay on 'border patrol' or find out why they want illegals to remain illegal.

I think that people on both sides of the immigration issue are promoting racism and hatred, but you have to remember there are a lot of teenagers on this forum who are just stirring up trouble. I think many pro-illegals cry racism because there´s no other real justification for their argument.

I think it all boils down to ignorance and stupidity on both sides (I say both sides because certain members of the pro-illegal side [which does exist mind you] also are guilty of ignorance, racism and stupidity). Just stick around a little longer (4-6hours from now) and you'll see what I mean.

Blind racist hate is bad and insane, but its hard to control it if all sides are guilty of the same BS.

I don't think the forum itself promotes racism and hatred, but the people frequenting this forum certainly thrive in it. Moreover, I believe that the issue of immigration and race go hand in hand. That does not mean we can't have a respectful debate about this issue.

My paternal grandfather was a seaman on a British cruise ship in the early 1900's. One time when the ship was in NY, he jumped ship. However, when he decided that he was going to stay in America, he returned to England and came back legally.

Those who are here illegally are not fine people. They make it almost impossible for those who want to come legally. I have a German friend whose family has been in the US (legally) since 1999. They are still waiting on their green cards. They have been told that that is because of the illegals.

I don't subscribe to hatred based on race, and have no issue with immigrants, and think our response to 'illegal immigration' should be social, not penal. That said, however -

I live in the United States of America. Here, until King George finally gets rid of that bit of the constitution, too, we have the clear right to be whatever kind of backwards-thinking racist assholes we want to be as long as we don't infringe on the free actions of those we choose to despise. We can even say nasty things on internet sites, legally, as long as we don't incite specific violence or threaten specific violence.

For example - I'm primarily german by descent; You could, in the US, legally publish a document claiming that Germans were generally stupid, lazy, and theivish, that we ate babies for breakfast and raped family pets nightly. You could say that you believe all Germans should be ejected from the Great United States of America, and that new German applicants for immigration should be denied on grounds of moral turpitude. And as long as you don't say, "We should kill *these specific Germans*" or "I'm going to kill that nasty german, jstevewhite", you'd be within the bounds of Freedom of Speech under the Constitution of the United States of America.

But the same law that allows you to say such benighted and hateful things affords *me* the right to call you a bleeping idiot of the first water. :D

So no, I don't think this forum promotes hate and racism. It does, however, create a space where people who have differing opinions can express them.. and that includes *your* right to call 'em the way *you* see 'em.

"I'm not Latino by the way, but know people of all cultures, and love both the Asian and Hispanic cultures"

There is the difference. Exactly what I always encourage people to do: Travel, mingle! If they do, they discover that diversity is a real blast, and enjoy what makes us all so different.

If not, you're living in a shoebox, looking through narrow-minded blindfolds. Ignorance is damming

I don't think it promoting it as much as revealing it. And some people on here are in favor of illigal immigration. Sure, there are some attractive Mexicans, but not all of them, just like Americans or anyone else. I'm a rice and beans queen much like yourself.
