First determine cause with culture. If Strep A present antibiotics, if not acetaminophen for fever and discomfort.

When my daughter was younger she got tonsillitis at least once a year. After about the second or third time the Dr. said "Give her an aspirin". So from that time on, I gave her an aspirin whenever they got sore and swollen.
Chloroseptic spray will probably help her throat feel better also.
It finally stopped with age. Good Luck.
