The heat, pigs, pork, "I smell bacon" and other such names and phrases were used to describe law enforcement employees. How was the "Fuzz" brought into their description? It was brought around by refering to the babble and white noise created on the Police frequencies that caused interference on the AM and shortwave radio bands.
Thus when there was a lot of police activity the radio and CB's would become "fuzzy" and criminals would know the "fuzz" was coming.
