In the beginning of Catholicism priests could get married. But because of the rule of inheritance the land that would go to the priest when they married and had kids would then go to their children and the catholic church could not have that. So around the middle ages they decreed that priest could not get married. The nuns were never allowed to get married when it was established. In the past in order to become a nun your family had to have money. You could become a nun if you were poor but it was harder to do so. So it was all about land and money, nothing else.

Pope in the Middle Ages decided that priests or nuns should not get married, because Church was afraid that their property would get lost. You know: Priest get married and have son-money and wealth goes to the son...
Than, this rule stayed untouched, believing that Jesus said so...

It is not a matter of they can not get married, they have taken a vow before God to keep their bodies clean of fleshly desires. Think about it, if a priest is a virgin then he won't have sex on his mind when councelling to his flock. And also he/she should be able to 'talk' to God better because their fleshly desires are not in the way.

It also says that there would come a time when false teachers
would teach to abstain from marriage. The Roman church from the Pope down are false teachers. Teaching others the way but not even going to Heaven themselves.

The apostle Paul never married and was just dedicated to the ministry, he said " I would prefer you were like me but because of your sinful nature you should marry"

They are married. They are "married" to the church. We don't want priests to have to neglect a family because they spend too much time with the Church.
Ask a hard one next time.

it is because they have given their devotion (celebacy) to the Lord. besides, they are not alone. they go inside a convent with other devoted people. so basically, they are not alone.
