Isn’t the belief in no god an act of faith? How can the complex eco system of Earth be explained? Why does everything else in the universe decay while the earth evolved to a higher state? The agnostics acknowledge that there might be a god, while atheists “know” there is no god. How do they know? Doesn’t their absolute belief in no god make it their religion?

It is interesting to me that many if not most of the people that have responded to this question negatively are atheist—look at their profiles. Why answer a religious question? By the way, atheists do have sects with common beliefs and organizations.

The truth is atheism is "disbelief". God chooses whom he will sanctify through belief in the truth. God created all things, even atheists for his divine purpose. It is His will that none should perish but that all should come to the knowledge of the truth.

Denying God is like denying the wind because you do not see it even though you cannot deny the leaves are moving.

Remember that believing there is a God isn't enough because demons believe and tremble. You must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

No. Atheism is a (dis)belief, but not a religion. The only thing all atheists have in common is that they believe there is no god. They have very different ideas about everything else. Atheism has no standards, no rituals, no specific morals or even common belief in anything else than the absence of gods. So no, atheism is not a religion, it's a single (dis)belief.

I don't see why Atheism cannot be considered a religion. After all it is a belief that many people have. Just because Atheists do not believe in God doesn't mean it is not a BELIEF of one ideal or another. A lot of people just don't want to think of Atheism as a religion because many are ignorant.

A religion is an organization with dogmatic creeds and rituals. Atheism is simply a category for people who do not believe in god. Theism is the belief in a god, it is not a religion hence neither is Atheism.

No, atheism is really not a religion. Some atheists say that there is no God. Others say that they do not believe in God. There is a big difference in the two statements. The link below has a nice chart which explains in depth the reason that atheism cannot be called a religion.

No, and atheism isn't a belief, it's a disbelief.

"Doesn’t their absolute belief in no god make it their religion?"

What? You assume that all atheists are strong atheists. Strong atheists deny the existence of god(s), weak atheists simply don't believe in any god(s).

For the thousandth time, no:
Religion is a system of social coherence based on a common group of beliefs or attitudes concerning an object, person, unseen being, or system of thought considered to be supernatural, sacred, divine or highest truth, and the moral codes, practices, values, institutions, and rituals associated with such belief or system of thought

No, just because we all have a similar opinion or knowledge of a fact for that matter does not mean Atheism is a religion.
