How much hair is too much to be losing when you condition in the shower?

It depends on how much you wash your hair. If you wash it every other day then expect a noticeable amount in the drain. If you wash it everyday, and their is a noticeable amount in the drain, then you could talk to a doctor. But I would only suggest that if you were starting to see some major spots of hair loss. It depends on how stressed out you have been lately, if you have major split ends, or if poor nutirition is to blame. SO take all of those into consideration and try a trim or a destresser technique. As far as how much is too much, well it all depends and unless you notice some major hair loss spots on your scalp, you should be ok.

You typically lose between 20-100 hairs each day. I didn't know that until I researched it. I had the same problem. If it's more than that, I'd be worried. It might help to use a big comb when you're in the shower. Once you condition your hair, try combing it through before you rinse. This may help. And never use a brush on wet hair- that will help you loosed and lose more hair.

I have been losing a lot of my hair, though there are other problems as well that I am treating. But my Endicrinologist just prescribed me spironolactone. It should take about 1-2 months to see a difference. Hair loss is caused by many different things (hormones, iron, bad nutrition, stress, weather...). It is a good idea to go see your doctor and let him/her know what is going on. Good luck- hope this helps ya!!

umm well you lose an average of 80 hairs a day but i lose more too so if you have thick hair its natural to lose a lot of hair in the shower expressly when you condition it a lot!

everyone losses a lot of hair, unless you have a severe iron defency, your body isn't going to let you loose too much hair! i have very long thick hair, and YES i loose lots when i shower and then when im trying to comb it after wards, if you think you are loosing too much hair, when you are about to brush it after you get out the shower, use a detangler, almost any type of salon product makes a detangler! it will not make it soo knotty, and easier to brush, but unless you are getting severe bald spots, your fine. and if you are getting severe bald spots, then i would consider seeing a doctor! hope that helps!!

If you are loosing your hair in big chunks or handfulls then its a problem.
i have always had long hair and it is normal to loose some in the shower. Its all your dead hair, you dont want it anyways! I also noticed that in the winter months it always got a little worse.
I would only worry if you have balding spots on your head!
Hope this helps.....

it depends on your hair, if you have really thick hair you could loose about enough to cover the drain but you either have a to strict of diet or your hair is to thick and it needs a trim and thinning out

if you are loosing more than usual when you condition, try to cut a little and treat your hair with olive and rosemarry oil, it really works for hair loss and thickening.
