i got busted for dui, but it was .014, and the legal limit is .02 for under 21. So they will probably make us do community service or something.

I think you already know the answer to your questions.

Wear a neat suit.

Speak intelligently and remorsefully.

Make sure the judge knows that you made a mistake and it won't happen again.

Make sure it doesn't happend again! You put people's lives at stake when you drive drunk. Please be responsible.

You should relax with a little mixed drink first. This will give you confidence. Get plugged into an iPod, play some music....get your body rhymed and rhythmed and tuned in. Baggy pants sends a contemporary message, which is good. Shirt tail should be 'out'. Anything else is yuppy. Sway side to side as you walk, and jerk your shoulders to the tunes. Educate the judge that it was only a .014, probably a lot less than his own blood alcohol on a Saturday night at the Elk's lodge, so ask him to cut you some slack. That's what I'd do. Keep your head up. Be confident. Don't let the court take the upper hand.

Wear appropriate suit. Ties are not compulsory or even necessary, because knowing the reason you are at the juvenile court, it won't work that much. Straight posture, speak politely. Please remember: Do NOT defend your actions. That's the job of your attorney/lawyer/whoever is representing you. Speak only when questioned and with grace and ease (and consult your lawyer/attorney when in doubt). Whenever you feel cornered or uneasy, just remember that the main goal of the juvenile justice system is rehabilitation rather than punishment. So as long as you behave as a teen who knows his mistake and will not commit again, they're very likely to let you off, especially when you didn't cross the legal limit for alcohol intake before driving.

Good luck!

Clothes: Clean neat conservative clothing. A suit is always good but not a requirement.
Talk: Normal and remorseful.
Act: Conduct yourself as an Adult.
What to say ?? The truth is always the best. IF you are guilty then you should own up to it. You don't have to roll over and dime out anyone unless the Judge demands to know. You are the only one who will do your time. No one else will.

Good luck and learn from this experience otherwise you should read up on Criminal law cause you are going to be dealing with it for a long time.

Wear a shirt and tie, to show respect to the judge.
Talk as an educated person does with your head up high and looking into the eyes of your listener.
Act humble with a show of respect.
Say you realize you were in great error and that you have definitely learned the foolishness of alcohol mixed with driving.

And for goodness sakes stay away from the drink until you are of age!! Obey the law and you'll go a lot further.

answer every question with "yes sir, no sir, yes mam, no mam, yes your honor, no your honor" as applicable. wear a nice suit and tie, stand up straight and answer people by looking them in the eye and addressing them directly. Don't look at the walls or the floor. be professional. I see to many come into court looking like they just came from school, the pool, trying to look cool, etc. Looking cool is not the objective for court.
For example this one kid came in wearing baggy basketball shorts, and a tank top, another came in hawaiian shorts and a t-shirt. neither was appropriate and made them look like they didn't care, meaning they looked guilty.
be professional and respectful, anything less and your done for.

Wear a suit. Keep your mouth shut. Act with respect. Only speak when asked a direct question. Won't be easy, I'm sure. Remember the Yes Sirs and No Sirs (ma'am if it applies.)

Dress neatly and in clean clothes, get your hair cut. Sit up straight and say yes ma'am no sir. Be polite and respectful, any attitude and you might piss the judge off. Community service is better than probation or jail.

Just be respectfull to the court. That means dress clean looking. If you have a suit, you can wear it. Or wear something appropriate for church. You don't need to go out and buy clothes if you don't have them. Just wear whatever you have that looks presentable.

Also, be respectfull to the judge. This shows respect for the court. Call him/her "sir/ma'am" or "your honor".

Judges are people. If you are rude to them, they will react the way people do. The difference is, he has the power to punish you.

Wear a shirt with a collar, pants that FIT, (not those baggy things)
Speak clearly, use yes sir ( yes ma'am). If you get the chance, let them know that you realize how irresponsible and foolish your actions were and it won't happen again.

Be aware of your body language!

No gum.
