Woke up with it yesterday and cant move my neck very well. Is there anyone who has had this problem and knows how to fix it without going to a cyropractor. I know heat pads tend to help, but i havent had a chance to go get one. HELP, it is really painful, any remidies will help loads. Thanks

Yes, I work in the Medical field, and a physcial therapist helped me once when I could not even move my neck, (I know the pain)
Take a hot towel and wrap it around your neck for 20 minutes. Take it off and then very slowly and I mean slowly move your neck around, up and down and back and forth. Do this every hour and before you know it, it is gone. It takes awhile so be patient but it does work, trust me.....
PS. Also take some Motrin if your stomach can handle it.....
Good luck

Crick In My Neck

I go to a chiro also. But for a quick fix, and I have this happen often.

Stand with your feet about one foot away from the wall and bridge off the wall with the back of your head. Do it maybe 5 to 10 times left center and right by turning your head left and right. It works the pain out of the muscles in your neck.

I can help mine by pushing my palm against my forehead and pressing my head against the palm, accomplishing the same thing. Put ice in a zip lock bag and put it on your neck. Ice always helps also.

Take a couple of Excedrin. I hope this helps.

Take a pain reliever. Use your blow dryer on your neck while working your head back and forth. Use common sense so you don't burn yourself. I know it hurts, but holding your neck stiff will just make it hurt more and for a longer period of time. Try to move normally.

A heating pad will help, but, in the meantime, here are some suggestions:
1. Boil a pot of water
2. When it is cool enough to handle, soak a washcloth in it
3. Drape the washcloth over your computer screen
4. Repeat as necessary
