Can anyone tell me how to disable the 'body text' function in MS Word Office XP. I hate it, it looks totally weird when compared with other text and Word seems to like automatically converting random sentences into this format. I know that it's possible to change the text formatting in the Style pull down menu that forms part of the tool bar but when I have to do that maybe 50 times in a big document that's a waste of time. Can't I just delete it as a style or is there an option that allows me to switch off automatic style formatting without switching off every other automatic process?

Your 'body text' style is probably set to update automatically. To turn off this feature, click Style on the Format menu, select the 'body text' style in the Styles box, and then click Modify. If the Automatically update check box is selected, clear it.
