Same documents you need to travel within the USA. Therefore if you require a passport to travel within the USA, ensure that you bring it to Puerto Rico as PR is a Commonwealth of the US. I would inquire at the US Embassy in El Salvador. Your travel agency should be able to answer your question as well.

Well PR is part of the US and technically you only need a valid picture ID, to go and come back since is consider a national destination. But there is a big catch to it after Sep. 11. They now are asking (randomly) for documents, proof of citizenship or residency when departing PR or when entering the US you could be screened so you'll have to show something. Also be are that the regulations will change as of December of this year all passengers flying to Canada, Mexico & the Caribbean will have to show passports when traveling to or from any destination.

Puerto Rico is a Commonwealth of the U.S., so basically all you need to bring is a form of Identification. No need for passports since it is not considered International and what not

If you're not a U.S. citizen, you better bring all proof that you are legal (ie- passport, green card, driver's license).
Puerto Rico is technically part of the U.S., but I would still be prepared for the worst.

Starting on 12/31 passports will be REQUIRED for everybody (including US Citizens) to travel anywhere in the world.
As of right now you will need two forms of US Goverment issued photo ids such a a Driver License and your passport from El Salvador.
Una cosa, si no tienes papeles NO VIAJES ALLA, porque u can get in a lot of trouble. ;)

If you are an alien green card holder, you will need to travel with your card and with your passport. Since 911, Americans need to show passports to re-enter the U.S. If it is your first return since 911, they have to take fingerprint samples, eye scans and to create a personal database at the airport when you return. Years ago, you would just board a domestic flight--no more: nowadays you have to show and be documented when you return.

Well before it was exactly like USA but now you need a pasport like if you where going to another country. I say take you visa and pasport or if its the same thing then just take that. They have changed everything so that is a good question.
