Is your worrying constant and excessive? Is it causing you distress and impairing your social, work life?

Basically you need to retrain you way of thinking. I too at times worry in an excessive manner. For example when my son was very young (around 5 or so) he would want to play in the fenced in back yard. There are no streets only other yards. I would worry so much that either I would sit out their with him or go to the window and check on him about every 2 minutes.

I am still a worry wart but I try to look at others and think would they worry as much as I am right now. I do my best to convince myself that I am worrying too much.

Too much worrying can cause stress which will cause health problems.

If you think that you are worrying too much go to a psychologist they can help you figure out if your worrying too much and if you are they can help you ease up on that worry wart personality.

I don't know why some people tend to worry more than others but what I have noticed is that my Dad is a worry wart and still is today. If I don't answer my phone he will get extremely upset and start worrying that something bad has happened to me. He reacted like this with his sister once when she came back on vacation. What I am getting at here is that I believe that my worrying came from my Dad. I don't know if it is biological or perhaps I was conditioned this way. All I know is it is very difficult not to worry when that is how I have been all my life.

Also just to note... My son who is eight tends to worry alot. I am not as bad as I used to be but I do wonder if his worrying stems from my behavior. I'm telling you this because if you have or going to have childern I know you would like to break that cycle of worrying too much.

So my answer to you is a psychologist, retrain the way you think and don't be afraid to ask others if they think your worrying is excessive in whatever situation it may be.

Good luck

My motto is "What, me worry?" People always tell me I am dumb and stupid and that my light bulb is a little dim so when I start to worry I just unscrew the light bulb a little more and everything is fine.

What you maybe need to do is to get out of where you are when you start to worry and go do something to get your mind off it. This is like unscrewing the bulb. After all, most of the stuff we worry about is a waste of time anyway. You can worry your brains out all day long and accomplish nothing, so why worry? There is no point on it. I can be three months late on the phone bill and the electric company can be threatening to cut off my electricity but do I worry? No. There's no point and nothing to be gained from worrying all the time. I just say the hell with it. Screw it all. Nothing matters really, so forget about it.

It all depends on your situation. Many times when you're worried, it's because you've got something to worry about. So you have to deal with it. Solve it. If you can't, tough luck. In life, sometimes you lose. That's how it works. But, anyway, you shoudl be a bit more explicit with your question. What are you worried about?

If you are having anxiety issues, see your doctor, they can suggest some thigns to take or do to help you.....yoga is good to help stop worrying, also meditation as it clears your mind, also keeping yourself busy helps, or taking up a hobby, the busier you are the less time you have to worry.
