Got the chills when I read that. I feel things like that are so overlooked by all on a daily basis. Yesterday on a talk show, this lady had a picture of her deceased baby girl and it had been years since her death, and at an amusement park ~ there was her daughters face in a painting. An uncanny resemblance to her daughter, WE JUST HAVE TO OPEN OUR EYES> Psychics say all the time that kids see things we cannot, encourage him to talk to him. But yes my dear, it sounds like your friend has your son's "back". There isn't so much as life after death, but a continuation on a different realm....... Trust in that. Love....:o]

In Bhagavad Gita, it is said that the soul that is present in the body is undestructable and when this body becomes useless, it takes up another body.
"For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain." (Bhagavad Gita 2.20)
If a person had been good and pious, then as a result of his deeds, he gets entry into Heaven.
But if the person has been sinful then he may be forced to be punished in Hell or may even be punished with ghost body.
The people in Heaven, do have access to those on this planet earth and under certain cases they are even allowed to meet and help those.
I do not know if its coincidence or some thing else, but its understandable and it can happen.

Unfortunately you're not likely to find much intelligent support here among the bible thumpers who are obsessed with demons and damnation. That's a problem with mixing Religion and Spirituality in one category. But of course there are "ghosts" and spirits -- they're just people in another plane of existence which sometimes overlaps our own. I've seen ghosts from the time I was a child, and I've lived in several homes that were haunted. I know from experience "ghosts" exist, and they are nothing to fear. You're blessed to have your friend in communication with you, and your son is apparently psychic (as you must be to some degree). You didn't say it's possible but I had to wonder if your son might be the reincarnation of your friend.

(Ignore all the self-righteous grumple bunnies here.)

No, there is no life after death, as there is nothing to live. The Bible says the soul dies, and the Spirit of Life we share with the lower form animals, with neither being greater.

Your friend simply lays in the grave. Whether he is resurrected will fully depend on the choices made by his parents, as he died before the age of understanding.

If he is resurrected, than all that he was will be downloaded into a new body, and he will once again meet his parents and walk the earth, without illness or aging.

Yes I believe in ghosts for various reasons. The bible talks about "spirits" I think 50 times or more. Secondly, the maintenance man and I saw one in the hall by the surgical suite, and lastly, I believe in anti-matter theory. The latter is evidence enough for me but I believe for all 3 reasons.

from the mouths of babes eh ?
i always say that when children can tell you of people that have passed on and they have never met ... this has to be the most wonderful evidence of life after death
i am a medium and totally believe in it of course
but i love when there are things from children who are so innocent and have had no religious doctrine to cloud their perception
its just brill

i dont think it is coincidence .. who would want to look after your son more than your good friend

Yes, I believe that there is definitely life after death. Ghosts or spirits? Yes, I think there are some of those hanging around too.

I believe in life after death and in spirits, but not in ghosts. The Bible is specific that those who die go immediately to one of two places. Christians are immediately united with Christ in Heaven. Everyone else goes to Sheol, a temporary place until the Great White Throne Judgement where God will determine whether or not they belong in Heaven or Hell.

Spirits, on the other hands, are angels. One third of the angels were cast down when they aligned themselves with Satan. They are now called demons and they serve Satan who himself is the prince of the air (of this earth). According to the Bible, angels can manifest themselves as people and there's no reason not to believe that demons can as well.

All that being said, I doubt that your son is seeing angels or demons. In fact, as a toddler (2-4 year old), he is likely fantasizing as that is developmentally appropriate for children his age. And as far as the John/Sean thing, children at that age often mispronounce (and mishear) words.

As far as your friend being with you all the time, that simply isn't possible. I'm sorry because it sounds as if you miss him very much. I hope this helps.

No, there is no life after death. When you die, you're dead.

However, there is memory after death. Your best friend is still in your memories and many things in your life prompt memories of your friend.

Children often have invisible friends, and they're likely to "see" their invisible friends anywhere. That's quite normal.

The rest is coincidence, and not a particularly unlikely one.
