To men it is. Emotions are the biggest difference between the two sexes. When a guy opens up himself, he has no protection, there is no way to defend himself and therefore he is vulnerable. The Male Ego does not like to be vulnerable. All it takes, is one time for a guy to tell a girl how he feels and then get dumped or walked on and the easy solution is to lock up his feelings.
The best thing you can do is let him know that he can trust you, and no matter what he tells you about himself (good or bad) you are not going to judge him. Men know women gossip all the time and he is not going to reveal himself to you if he knows you are going to chat about it with your best friend. It is like guys and sex. If you know a guy is going to brag about sleeping with you the first time, it is not going to be as easy for you to let him into your bed.
Besides, our culture has advertised the rough and rugged man that has no feelings, or if he does he doesnt' show them.
Further more, men just are not as emotional as women are. They are all logic and making sense. They don't trust their heart.

If anyone can ever find an answer to this questions, I'd LOVE
to know. I do think its a fundamental difference between men
and woman. period. We take it as them not caring, but they
could have all these feelings inside that we'll never know about!
I think the best thing to do is to try and slowly talk to them and
gain their trust. They may open up slowly..It does take patience
but it may be worth it in the end. Okay, now I need to take my
own advice cause I have the same problem with my BF..!

because men see it as a sign of weakness. from the time we can talk we have been told to suck it up. we grow up doing this, and it comes out in different ways. it shows is the things we do most of the time.

Men for better or for worse have evolved to hide there pain when driving off predators and hunting and attracting mates .
When we do break down and show our feelings it is used against us a lot .
If you want him to show emotions be there for him when the chips are down and be his best cheerleader.It wont work the first few times but eventualy he will come around .

Lynda, agreed that there're some guys that are timid by nature but a large majority of us will always tell you gurls what we want and exactly how we want it. But let me say that, naturally, men are not as emotional as women. Hope you agree with that.

We all need to love and to be loved.
Most of our issues could be solved fairly easily, if we have our loved one supporting us.
If you are hurt by a former ex, well you just need to get yourself up and start searching for someone who deserves your love.
Don't ever be shy .. that won't ever help you .. and you'll have lots to lose. Do what your heart tells you it's right.

what it comes down to is they are weaker for not opening up, us women open up, shut up, do anything.....but guys have this problem opening up.....that's what makes them weak, they are soooooo scared to let their feelings be known...poor wittle baby...therefore they are the weaker sex

i know it makes me really mad too. i'll write a note to a guy telling them about everything and they'll write me back saying, its okay. it doesnt make since. i dont know why they're so bottled up inside.
