Maybe God doesn't want the infertile couple to have kids.

God orders all men to propagate their kind for their happiness and His Glory. He doesnt command them to disobey Him. He wants them to live a healthy and happy life. When the wife cannot bear her husband's child because of certain abnormality in her womb, the would-be surrogate mother in full agreement with the couple receives the implanted semen into her womb without an illicit sexual act and nurtures the embryo until the baby is born. The new born child becomes a child of God from conception because He infuses into it an immortal soul. The act of man in procreation is an act of God in creation. Both parents are only God's instrument of His will. In my own point of view, it is not against God's will. It is religion and the Church's teachings that forbid the act of surrogation. God knows best. We know it, we believe it because there is rejoicing in heaven over every child born on earth.

I believe that maternal surrogacy has a unique set of problems that make it unwise. The vast majority of women strongly bond to the child before it's born. Feeling that baby move inside your body is unlike any other experience. It takes a strong and courageous woman to have the wisdom to trust that child to another mother when the circumstances dictate. Many surrogates don't realize what they are getting into and then have difficulty at that point.

I watched a couple, two years ago, leave with empty hands and grieving hearts when the teenage girl, who'd promised them her baby, changed her mind. They were a wonderful couple and would have, in my opinion, made marvelous parents. But the birth mother always has overriding rights. If a couple chooses surrogacy, they need to realize that the odds are greater that the surrogate mother will change her mind and keep the child.

As far as it being against God's will, God loves adoption. He created it both temporally (in this world) and spiritually (in Heaven). His children become His through adoption. Ephesians 1:5 (NLT) tells us "God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure." So I don't think surrogacy is against God's will as much as it is not necessarily the wisest course of action.

Surrogacy is seen throughout the Bible. In fact, Jesus Christ is the direct descendent -- through both His mother AND His step-father -- of a surrogate pregnancy: the marriage of Ruth and Boaz produced a son, Obed, King David's grandfather. By Jewish law, Obed was actually considered Naomi's son, and he inherited the name and property of her dead husband, since none of her sons survived.

However, Jesus was not the result of a surrogate pregnancy, as one answerer suggests. A "surrogate" is "one who stands in for another." From the beginning, God meant Jesus to be born from a woman, so He could be the "Second Adam." So neither Mary nor the Holy Spirit served as a surrogate.

The attempted union of Tamar and Onan is another example of surrogacy. Because Tamar's husband died, she had every right to expect her deceased husband's brother impregnate her so she could have a son, who would be considered her husband's son, not Onan's. Onan disobeyed and refused to impregnate Tamar. For that disobediance, God killed him.

Some folks point to the union of Abraham and Hagar as being a surrogate relationship. However, Ishmael was never considered Sarah's son, as evidenced by God's pronouncement that the son of the bondswoman would not inherit the promise God made to Abraham so many years before.

There are several instances in the Bible of God "shutting" the womb of a woman to prevent her from conceiving. At the right time, these women were permitted to conceive. The conception of Samuel is an example.

Does God object to infertile couples having children? No. Remember, He says, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice." Jesus also commanded us to "love one another." A surrogate pregnancy, whether using a surrogate womb or donated eggs and/or sperm, is certainly an act of love, don't you think? I see no indication in Scripture that should prevent such an arrangement, so long as it does not involve infidelity.

Peace.

I think a surrogate mothers are a blessing. It is a selfless act of incrediable porportions. I can't imagine it being against God's will. Now as far as your next comment tht God doesn't want infertile couple to have kids... Well now if that was the case then why would GOD allow people who abuse their children to breed, why would GOD allow child molesters to become parents, why would GOD allow welfare babies to breed welfare babies and be bums all their life. Lets face it if GOD was controlling who and who didn't have babies the world would be less populated and probably much better off....

There are plenty of opportunities to adopt children. I think this is the way to go. And as a bonus, you may be past the diaper changing stage!

It is still fornication. It still produces a child. They are not respecting the will of God. There are other ways to be a parent to a child, and adoptions is it. Artificial incemination is trying to over thow the will of God and is a sin. They are going agains the will of God.

Anything that is not natural is against God. God is the giver of life. If a woman is barren she should not put her husbands semen in another woman. That would be considered wrong in the sight of God.
