Also, do you vote (if old enough)?

I know this sounds like a dumb question, but there are tons of people who have absolutely NO interest in politics or our government...

Oh ya, What party (please no ranting) are you with and which party were your parents with if any?

I was about 11 or 12. I have always loved History so I started to pay attention to the news and politics. I listened to Limbaugh and many other talk show hosts including Howard Stern to get an insight about how people feel. Our family talks politics at every family gathering which many times leads to heated debates. My girlfriend and her daughter talk politics with my son and I frequently. Some people have no idea or could care less about politics and how important it is today. I had an ex-girlfriend who couldn't even name the president. I was shocked and literally sickened. She watched Schindler's List and made the comment that it would have been horrible if that had been real. I was stunned! She didn't even know that the Holocaust was real! People need to know what is going on with current events as well as past ones.
Yes I do vote and I encourage everyone I know to vote. People have died so I could vote. We owe that to thousands upon thousands of dead soldiers. It's the least we can do to go and vote. Even if it means we will be late for work or it interferes with our plans. I'm sure history will forgive us. Thanks for a great question.

First election I got interested in was in 1964 between Barry Goldwater and L.B. Johnson. I was in the 7th grade and we help mock elections on who would win. Out of all the classes that voted LBJ won by a landslide.
I have stayed involved every year and just after I turned 18 the amendment to give the 18 year old the right to vote was passed. I have voted ever since.
My parents were split.....one a democrat and the other a republican. Me I vote for both because there are those in both parties that deserve my vote....while others do not. I mainly vote for the person who I think will do the best job if elected.

Yes i vote, well i voted 1st time last time. I am 22 and have been working for about 3 years now, i also rent my own flat. I guess i started to take a more serious interest in politics when i started working, probably because as you are out working and having to pay bills these things affect you more so there fore you become interested in what it is all about. But before that i guess i never really paid so much attention to it all. Now i find that my views get stronger and stronger as time goes on.

Applying to the Air Force Academy and needing nomination from a Senator got me researching them. I also had a wonder teacher in high school. I still remember most of her lectures.

I vote by mail every election. That way I can sit down and read everything thoroughly.

BTW - please check your judicial nominees records. People blindly vote in these people and some of them are letting the worst criminals back on our streets.

Got interested deeply at age 30, when clinton came to power, began researching all sides of politics, the administration that was coming to power, and compared my beliefs to those of the top parties, only two i should say. Then when I saw Hillary hugging and swishing her head back and fourth with al gores wife after bill won the election, I went................AHHHHHHHHHH, HOW DID I ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN!...............never again.
