i damaged both my front teeth some time back, my dentist seems to be doing nothing that i'm satifyed with to improve/restore the damaged teeth...trouble is there are not many dentists in my area that are taking new patients on and ive been quoted by private deniest £100 just to talk to them and £1,500 per crown...(trouble is not everybody as got that kind of money).

i'm really feeling depressed, i try to avoid smiling and everything (i feel like ive lost who i am) :/ is there anything i can do maybe speak to a doctor or something because dentists don't seem to be doing anything that i'm happy with and it really is having an effect on my life...i'm 24 should be experiercing the best times of my life but i'm totally unhappy.

Sorry to hear of your misfortunate accident. Do you have insurance? Health insurance here, in the USA, usually offers a certain part of dental work to be done, if it was from an accident. I have never been in your country, so I am not quite sure how that part of it works.
I can relate to your part of being subconscious about your appearance. I, too am an anti~smile because of crooked teeth.People think I am mad all the time because I don't smile. But if they only knew! Cosemetic dentistry was an option , then the company I was working at decided to downsize and all had been lost, insurance wise. The unemployment is unrealisticly high in this area. 1500 factory people have lost thier job in the past 12 months in this area, due to downsizing or closing. This areas economy can't handle that much at one time. Much less find a job that is comparable in wage is SO NOT going to happen. So my perfect smile will have to wait until I can find a good job that offers dental insurance. I hope you check around if you don't have insurance and find a dentist willing to work payments out with you. That'll be the first smile of the rest of your life. Hang in there, my friend. PEACE.

I feel for you. I have similer problem. Dentist will charge between 600. to 1000 per crown. I don't have the money for that either. But if you have a low enough income you can go to your social service building. They do have dentist that attend to the poor and may give you the break you need. I believe they go on a sliding scale by how much income you have. I make to much for that but not enough to fork over a grand. I'm stuck in the middle(middle class)that is. Also you may find a dentist that will exept payments. Get out the phone book and start calling. GOOD LUCK!

I would search around by phone and find a Dentist that will take payments and price shop at the same time.

I am in Florida, USA and have had my top front teeth crowned. It was $1500.00 for both. They have held up beautifully for 8 to 10 years.
