I'm not sure if they can help, but a friend of mine got funding from the British Acadamy, so they might be worth a shout.

It is going to require some research on your part, but there is tons of grant money out there especially for single mothers who want to pursue an education. I would look to see if your particular institution has an Trio programs (like EOC or SSS or even a Ronald E. McNair program). These all provide assistance to first generation, low-income individuals. Look for scholarships on fastweb.com and do general searches on yahoo and google search engines. If you put in the time and effort you will find funding...but it does take time and effort.

To be able to say what is available, I need more information.

Is the funding for you or your daughter?
Exactly what course are you doing (the money available can depend of the level of the course, the subject and the institution) and where?
Is the course full-time or part-time?
Are you working as well as studying?

I work for a university so I should be able to get some answers but it depends a bit on your situation.
