I just recently got off of wellbutrin 150 mg cause it was making me crazy! Very suicidal and depressed feeling I just so happed to take it cause of these problems but the meds intensified it 10x so anyways before i took myself off of it i was freaking out from the meds and couldn't take it anymore and i had to cut myself just once so i wouldn't end up doing anything more! I"m scared to tell my therapist i don't wanna be stuck in a hospital or anything i'm off the meds now and feel better what do you think ones therapists reaction would be to cutting yourself due to the meds making me feel so bad?

Please do not feel bad. You knew that the medication was making you feel worse, so quitting it was not a bad thing. If you did not feel better you would have started taking it again and seen a doctor to change the medication.
The cutting of yourself was only a sign of how bad you were feeling and I would think you therapist would understand why you did what you had done.
Maybe you should talk to him/her about what you should do next. Also, see the doctor that prescribe the medication and get him/her to change it to some thing better for you.
I have seen my son have medications do the opposite of what they were suppose to do and had to be changed.
I wish you the best and good luck.

your therapists should understand because sometimes if you dont have depression to the full extent then meds wont help it will only do the exact oppiset...i am going to be a therapist and i hope that you do not cut yourself no more i know that it is not a mental problem that is makeing you do this i went through this too and you have to think to yourself that your body does not deserve this and you dont eaither what ever is makeing you sad in life i am sure that there are many other things to make you happy...every morning i wake up to see a beautiful sky and no matter what mood i am in i am always thankful to wake up and see such beauty in a world where there is'nt much of it left.

cutting yourself on its own isnt going to get you put in hospital unless it was to kill yourself, i did self harm quite a bit and the only reason my counsellor and doctor wanted to refer me was the on going suicidal tendacies. If it was the meds doing it, that you're now off make sure your therapist knows how you feel now and also knows it was the meds making you feel that way. Your therapist is there for you to talk to, you shouldnt be afraid to say what you feel if thats the case see someone else.

If you don't want to be stuck in the hospital, tell your therapist that you promise not to harm yourself. Give your treatment team a chance to try another med. They won't hospitalize you if you assure them that you are of no danger to yourself or to someone else (but you must be honest about this).

Suicidal thoughts in response to anti-depressants are common. Your therapists knows that this is a common reaction and shouldn't "commit" you. Maybe next time your therapist won't put you on such a strong dose to start out with.

They will not throw you in the hospital for cutting yourself once. Now, if you are continuing to self harm, you may be sent to the hospital. Explain to her how uncharacteristic it was of you. How bad is the cut? Sometimes that matters, too.

For therapy to be effective, you have to stop worrying about what your therapist thinks. You're there for you, not your therapist. If you don't tell them everything that's important, don't bother going. This is important, very important. Tell them. If you don't trust them, find another therapist.

Please speak to your therapist, explain that you just needed to do it once to regain control and that you don't want to get back itno that cycle. Tell her that you don't want to go back to hospital, that this was just a slip up on your road to recovery (as long as it really is and you're not sliding back into self-hurting behaviours) and try to move past this incident.
